AS SEA-MSY Starts Today

Thu Jun 12, 2014 2:18 pm

Today's a pretty big day for MSY as we get our second new airline in as many years. I don't believe the SEA-MSY market has ever seen scheduled nonstop service, so we're pretty excited.

Does anyone know the aircraft number that will be operating the inaugural flights? AS 788/789.

Tried to find out but no luck. Should be going out full with the standbys...looks like a few employees are heading to New Orleans for the weekend!

Thanks for trying though. I guess I'll just have to use a little thing called patience until I see her at the gate

I'm on 789 back to SEA and the seat map looks mostly full, just some random middle seats. Not a bad showing for flight #1.

Aircraft 568. It's the special employee powered livery.

Fond memories of the Hurricanes at Pat O'Briens in NOLA. Let's hope the famed NOLA humidity keeps it distance from those visiting from the Pacific Northwest. The majority ain't used to that stuff.

Nice. I think this is one of the ship's with in-seat power, too.

I wish it would keep its distance from the locals, too. That's what cold drinks and rooftop hotel swimming pools are for I guess.

Would AS also be catering to cruise ship customers leaving from the ports of Seattle and New Orleans?

Did Pride Air serve the SEA-MSY market?

I'm sure that's a part of the equation.

No, I think the closest would have been SFO.

Pride Air was such a cool operation. Great scheme too. Wish it had lasted. Never got to fly them though.

Oh...ok. I thought they did the PDX-SEA-MSY route. But then that was years ago!
