China Eastern Airlines and Virgin America have jointly filed with the DOT to commence codesharing services whereby MU seeks to place its code on VX operated flights.
Carries seek to commence codesharing on the below city pairs, on or around July 1, 2014.

Was there ever much love? DL's Asian love seems reserved for those carriers without competing NA service. They've got KE at arm's length. The only thing they've done recently is add a GA codeshare via HND. Not like DL is going to fly their own metal to Jakarta anyway.

Virgin America building a nice portfolio of codeshare partners, similar to what JetBlue is doing in Eastern US.

Comparing this to what Delta flies, VX offers a different portfolio of destinations. Can DL serve a passenger entirely on DL metal one-stop to all of these destinations from PVG?

Its reciprocal. Its a city pair.
So SFO-LAX means both directions.
