Well, that's interesting. I like to visit New Orleans every 2 or 3 years and its always been on the 738 from MIA.

Not too crazy about moving the 10:45am (approx) flight later (to 12:40pm). I guess this must be part of that new "banked hub" plan coming up.

The route will operate 5x daily. US Airways will operate a fifth departure.

That sucks for the folks of MIA and MSY that want a comfortable flying experience.

I don't see anything bad about this. 4 flights a day, it's quite nice.
The A319 is a great airplane to fly on.

The A319 in general is a good plane to fly on, but the AA 319 in coach is an absolutely terrible experience. I have flown on a lot of airplanes, on a lot of different airlines, spanning 5 continents...and the AA 319 is by far the most uncomfortable plane I have ever been on.

Great IFE however the seat space INCREDIBLY tight even F is a bit cramped....AA realty needs to pull a row out of Y.
I know the voices in my head aren't real but sometimes their ideas are just awesome!!!

Yeah the IFE is great, and you get a real good view of it 4 inches from your face....if the person in front of you inclines then its like watching at a movie theatre when its 2 inches from your face.

AA really needs to take out 2 rows of seats...its terrible.

The feedback on A.net seems unanimous and I can't wait to see for myself. My most uncomfortable flight ever was 10 hours on a LH 747, last row coach, restricted recline and I swear not even 30 inches. Got the feeling 2 hours to MSY will feel like a NYC limo ride in comparison, especially in MCE

Indeed it does, I only hope everyone is giving actual feedback to the airline instead of complaining ad nauseum on A.net.

I'm pretty sure it is. Historically they ran 3 daily, and only recently went to 4 on a seasonal basis.

Oh I gave them my feedback, and got the typical canned response. I don't think they really care though, because a vast majority of people in coach book on price, and don't even look at the aircraft. There are a few people who do look at the aircraft like myself, but as long as the flights are full, they simply don't care.

I've actually flown on them a few times now, and I did contact AA in writing and let them know that I found it intolerable. They actually responded, told me they had had numerous complaints, and had advised "Fleet Planning" that many passengers were complaining. That said, I don't know if they'll ever do anything, but personally, I would avoid this plane in coach and even consider a commuter jet to avoid it. The US A319's, on the other hand, are reasonably comfortable in coach, with a 32 inch pitch compared to what AA calls 30 inches (but which reallis about 28-29 if you take into consideration the high density seating. and the video screens are definitely about 2" from your face. Almost unbearable.

For you that don't know how terrible this is, here is a random pic I found of someone else posting the same thing (see link below). The guy in the pic is not a large man, I'd say your typical size adult male. This is how I felt trying to do work on this plane.
