I am curious - would it be possible for Boca Raton,
FL (BCT) to have scheduled airline service?
They have just one runway at 6,276 feet, and I am sure the NIMBYs would be completely against it - even if it were an ATR or DH8 kind of service.
What does a city/airport have to do to establish airline service? With
FLL so congested, and Boca Raton with a populace that would likely pay a premium price, I would think an airline could make money if service was ever started.
Also, with Florida Atlantic University having an on-campus stadium for football, basketball, etc. - could a plane such as an E170 land right nearby at the airport. It would seem to be quite a timesaver for schools coming in and out -- or for FAU traveling to away games.
Thanks!
