That take-off angle...is that for real??? I know telephoto lenses can compress depth of field, but my God that just doesn't seem possible.

Yes. It's likely on a very limited amount of fuel with no PAX / seats / cargo / two pilots (Randy Neville being one of them).

Awesome video!

Maybe it's just the camera angle, but the right wing and horizontal stabilizer look pretty close to the ground at 1:53. It reminds me a bit of the TAP A310 video, although not quite as extreme.

If you watch, the wingtip stays the same distance from the ground as the aircraft banks over it. It's brilliantly executed.

Didn't Boeing have a longstanding policy of not doing aerobatics?

Very nice, thanks for sharing!

I really liked the steep take-off that seemed almost vertical. And the very low-level turn after the touch-and-go.

Amazing video. Beautiful bird.

I am so glad and happy that Boeing dropped their "no flying display" policy for international air shows like Farnborough and Le Bourget.

The -9 is so much better looking than the -8. And I almost wonder if the -10 will look a bit too long...

Yep, pretty sure they did. I think I also remembered them taking sly digs at Airbus' "showy" policy when it came to flight displays at airshows. A bit ironic now. If you can't beat them, follow I guess.

And I wonder if they were using drones for some of the shots   .

Wouldn't want to get a helicopter that close to while it was taking off and landing.

Hah!

Some planes just look like they were meant to be in the air and the 787-9 means business when it lifts off the runway. 787-9 is certainly better proportioned than the 8, but still - those wings make the plane look like the eagle she is.

Seems I was incorrect. Wolfe Air Aviation does not use drones but rather three different jets which records this.

I have to admit, I thought it was CGI, as well. The quality of the video is psectacular, and something about some of the aircraft's movements didn't seem quite right to me. Shows what I know, I guess! It's a gorgeous video and aircraft!

At which part? Two aircrafts coming from opposite directions closely can make the video appear to be sped up. However there are obvious cuts in the video though.

This video also demonstrates how agile this aircraft is. Mike Bryan is flying in that Qatar plane as well.

Rumor has it that they have been barrel rolling it in the simulator with success.

So it probably can barrel role if they wanted to.

Has anyone tried a loop or other acrobatics in the sim if you can get it out of normal mode?
