RE: CSeries - Flight Test And Production (Part 11)

Mon Jan 04, 2016 7:18 pm

I have this Google spreadsheet, but it's also missing a bunch of aircraft in assembly, I'm sure. It also has a bunch of columns for information which I just cannot get without insider information. I've added 50010. I'd assume that 50008 and 50009 are also in assembly?

So we do have a file, great. Is there anyone on a.net that works at BBD and could fill in the blanks?

Most likely. The CS300 is a derivative of the CS100 and much of the testing from the CS100 will be applicable to the CS300. That's why there will only be two CS300 FTV's.

Where has FTV8 gone to. Many months ago it seemed close to the end of the assembly line. Did they slow things down to focus on the CS100?

That is a nice update, I think it was cautious on Bombardier's side to wait for certification before kicking off final assembly of production aircraft: in this way they avoided what could have been some additional "terrible teens"

CSeries - Flight Test And Production (Part 12)

Tue Mar 08, 2016 11:09 am

As the previous thread has been archived, I allow myself to open a new one.

The CS100 has arrived in ZRH to kick off the European route proving campaign, to include "major European cities" such as Brussels, Vienna and Warsaw.
Unfortunately, and unlike the more publicized A350 route proving or marketing tours, no information on the destinations can be found on either BBD or Swiss websites... IMO yet another sign of poor PR at BBD...

Perhaps some members here can enlighten us and help European aviation enthusiasts follow the CSeries around Europe?

http://atwonline.com/manufacturers/b...series-european-route-proving-tour

http://www.bombardier.com/en/media/n...-off-in-europe-.bombardiercom.html

In related news, the 2nd CS300 prototype - with a full interior - has entered flight test at Mirabel. This is the 8th and last CSeries prototype.

Air Canada CEO stands behind CS300 purchase plan

http://www.flightglobal.com/news/art...behind-cs300-purchase-plan-422896/

Quote:
Air Canada's decision to purchase Bombardier's struggling CSeries was not politically motivated and followed several years of study by the Montreal-based airline, says chief executive Calin Rovinescu.

"Absolutely not," he says when asked if politics played a roll in Air Canada's signing of a letter of intent to purchase up to 75 CS300s powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1500G turbofans.

Interesting news from the FAL, where first CS100 for Swiss has completed first power-up ahead of 1st flight
http://atwonline.com/manufacturers/f...r-cseries-aircraft-near-completion

Quote:

The first CSeries CS300 for launch operator airBaltic is on the final assembly line at Bombardier Commercial Aircraft’s plant in Mirabel, near Montreal.

At the same time, the first aircraft for CS100 launch operator Swiss International Air Lines is complete and has been powered up at Mirabel ahead of first flight.

At the CS100 certification BBD said to expect CS300 certification within 6 months after CS100

CS100 was certified the 17th of Dec 2015, so of those 6 months 3 have been used since.   As for EIS, they also said within 6 months after CS100

official PR from Bombardier about msn 55003 is out:
Winging it with CS300 first operator airBaltic

Quote:

Bombardier confirmed today that the first CS300 aircraft dedicated to passenger travel with Latvia’s airBaltic is now moving down the production line with the fuselage and wings ready to mate. As the CS300 aircraft’s first operator, airBaltic’s leadership team, which included Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, Martin Gauss, got a sneak-peak.

plus, nice update from Swiss on the route proving flights in Europe, including little hint at the FAL status:
CS100 back for route proving trials by SWISS

Quote:
[...]
The first six SWISS CS100s are now in the final assembly line. Our first aircraft – HB-JBA – is already structurally complete. It’s currently having its systems installed, after which it will receive its cabin interior. So the delivery programme is still well on track, and we’re now all in the final straight leading up to the aircraft’s delivery.

Anyone knows when the FAA and EASA certifications are expected for the CS100?

I also see that various CS1 FTVs are still flying on a daily basis, FTV3 is actually airborne as we speak. Are they engaged in more flight testing such as steep approach for London City, ETOPS, etc? Shouldn't most of them go thru cabin refitting by now so that they get to the production standard and eventually delivered?

Great news! I wish I could be on that inaugural flight. I wonder when the delivery is and how long LX plan for training and familiarization.

I think they plan to take all 10 CS100 in 2016. So there will be one delivery in June and then around 2 delivieries per month. I'm not sure though.

I also wonder when it will get European certification which is a prerequisite to the inaugural flight!
