According to ATDB, Korean Air's first CS300 has serial number 55006. This will be the 4th CS300 production frame, the first three are 55003, 55004 and 55005 (all airBaltic).

Possibly BBD saw what happened with Boeing and the "terrible teens" 787s and thus made a gap in production to have the first commercial planes more finalized and then come back to them and modify them? I know that the CSeries hasn't had many major changes like the 787s, but it could just been foresight by BBD. Another possibility, IIRC, is that the CS100 was supposed to have a different launch customer and not LX. Possibly they were to go to that operator and then they opted out of launching and deferred? I could be wrong but i believed that Braathen or Republic was supposed to launch way back in the beginning.

Yup, the aero is completely clean. There is not even a vortex generator that needed to be added. Amazing engineering if you think about it.

yes, all except the first one who will stay at BBD as test bed.

It was flown for the first time on 2016-11-05. I think was Sylvain meant is that it will be delivered to Swiss on Friday.

Thanks dash, makes much more sense. So after this one that leaves one left to deliver this year if they keep on track correct?

Impossible, as Swiss didn't even receive the 4th aircraft. I think Sylvain meant 50013.ikolkyo wrote:So what's going on with the 4th aircraft? Still waiting on blades?
Sylvain made a typo, the 4th (50013) is due for delivery in the coming days.

Latest plan was to deliver 7 CSeries aircraft this year (5x CS100, 2x CS300), 1 CS300 delivery slipped into 2017.
rbrunner wrote:I presume that the 4th is going to be delivered to LX within the next few days and that the 5th will be rolled out tomorrow, so the delivery will happen early next year. Does that sound right?

Why would a 2016 delivery for the 5th one not be possible ?

Seoul-based Korean Air expects to take delivery of seven Bombardier CSeries 300s next year, becoming the first operator of the type in Asia, Bombardier VP-CSeries aircraft program Robert Dewar told ATW at last week’s airBaltic CS300 unveiling.
“There are already Korean Air employees in Montreal, Mirabel, on the production side. Deliveries could happen from mid-2017 onward,” Dewar said.

Considering they still expect to deliver 35 Cseries next year, by mid year they should be somewhere between 12 and 15 by mid year
http://atwonline.com/manufacturers/bomb ... r-expected
That means the next 14-17 units (+2 till year end) are all going to Swiss and Baltic? These two are taking all the frames that BBD (and PW) can get out of the FAL.
AFAIK other programs from A and B had a more diverse user base early in their new programs. Not sure if this mean anything?

First KAL c/n is 55006.
