Has there been any further news on that undisclosed order for 31 + 30 C-Series for a European Airline?

No, except some wild speculation.

Infiniti: "Why didn't BBD send those frames to another operator rather than sitting there as gliders?"

Relevant question. Yes, most probably those were destined to Braathens/BRA. They indeed indicated they were not ready to take the frame's.

But then, no points to waste money into adapting those frames to another client's specs if you're not obtaining any more engines from Pratt.

Anyways, Braathens/BRA must have paid some additional deposits and/or penalties (proportional to the frame's degree of completion). BBD should not lose much here.

Furthermore, we have no problems with passenger carrying "gliders" around here... (AC B762 Gimli glider and Robert Piché's A330 detour into the Azores)

According to Sylvain Faust, an undelivered airBaltic CS300 (MSN 55016) is going into storage in YUL.

I still contend the C-series is too much aircraft to replace their Q400s.
