And the same photo is in the A.net database and identified as CMH. Same photographer has several other AA 990 photos in A.net.

Sure looks like Stapleton to me - that was my instantaneous reaction when I (first) saw the photo, so that's my vote.

the DC8 is at the old B concourse at SFO, Years ago we parked airplane sideways to load the front and back at the same time

Yes indeed, they were often described as "wedge shaped". When the door was opened, it actually slid upwards by a foot or two, towards the wider part of the opening. It could then be swung open. The door closure reversed this, as seen starting at 11min48sec in this vid:

Forget the door! I want know who at TWA thought of making FA (Stewardess) uniforms look like Star Trek costumes was a good idea. What the heck did they use, mylar or gold tinted aluminum foil????
Just kidding, but couldn't resist after seeing that uniform, even the FA behind her in the shadow is reflective lol.

Despite what the caption says, I can say with 99.9 percent certainty that the UA DC-8 (N8031U) is not at Stapleton. That concourse is too tall (the concourses at Stapleton had notoriously low ceilings prior to concourse A and B being refurbished, and E being built in the early- mid 80s). Also the external surfaces of all of the concourses at Stapleton were mostly white with light blue accents and trim in some places prior to their 1980s refurbishing. The pictured concourse looks to be a light brown/tan color. To me it looks like O'hare, but I'm not %100 on that.

These uniforms were part of an ill-conceived promotion in the late 1960s featuring Europenian style cabin service on trans-con flights in the U.S.
I believe this gold outfit was the French fashion model version. They also had a Roman toga style, an English serving wench, and a Manhattan lounging pajama. The outfits were rather sexist in those non P/C days and were actually unsafe. They were made of paper and Mylar. The TWA 'hostesses' would cut them to length. ( The jagged bottom edge is visible in the photo.) As expected, they hated the uniforms and the idea lasted just a year. I was on several flights between DEN and JFK and SFO JFK with the cabin staff dressed like this...it was more strange than sexy.

On an extended trip it meant carrying one of each around. Since they were paper I suppose it was not big deal. If I have this right, they wore their regular uniforms and changed in the aircraft lavs after boarding. I'm told they were a fire hazard as well.
One aspect of the entire inflight service plan as to have the meal service match the outfits, and the hostesses were told in advance which design to wear. This meant that the beef wellington and the coq au vin would in theory match the outfits, but in practice I am told that things could get out of synch. TWA always had some sort of pageant going on!

You are correct about changing on board. I never saw anyone wear the paper outfits in the terminal (except for a news story filmed by a local TV station in Denver).
I understand that for a time several of the appropriate outfits were kept on the in-flight catering trucks in the event of last-minute crew schedueling changes. But as mentioned there were times when the dress did not match the meal. (Beef Wellington served by a hostess in a toga)
