Thu Jul 31, 2014 1:01 pm

EV (operating as American Eagle) will replace Silver Airways in PIB and MEI...

It will be operated by EV, not MQ.

Gotcha, maybe I shouldn't have used "MQ" but was trying to say it is American Eagle and wanted to use the code like all the cool kids.

(Of course if I had said "EV" somebody would have chimed in that it's American Eagle, not ExpressJet, duh, and if I had said "American Eagle" somebody would have said that American Eagle is a clothing store that doesn't operate aircraft, duh, so who knows...)

Maybe the traffic flow will be better heading west from PIB and MEI. I hope it works out for them.

Cool. More small southern spokes for the growing DFW hub.

I still contend that GTR - Columbus/Starkville/West Point, MS - is also a market AA should explore given the American Eurocopter plant there and the American Eurocopter headquarters in Grand Prairie, TX, just south of DFW.

So if I read this story correctly, PIB and MEI will be served by the same flight as a tag-on, right?

MEI-PIB has got to be one of the shortest jet flight routes in the US.

I wonder if I'm a cool kid.   Anyway I understood it. Thumbs up. It was much better than yesterday's thread title that NK was flying SAN-BUR!

It's about 75 miles more or less right up I-59. Probably around 15min in the air would be my guess.

As well as Columbus AFB.

AA Eagle previously served GTR from BNA years ago. DL also had flights to DFW via ASA. Until mid 1990s, DL/NW/AA were all simultaneously flying there.
