Passenger 'throws Prosthetic Leg At Cabin Crew'

Fri Aug 01, 2014 5:02 pm

Flight diverted after a woman goes off the rails.

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime...tic-leg-at-cabin-crew-9641241.html

"The flight was diverted into Gatwick after it was alleged the woman had been abusive and had thrown a prosthetic leg and food at cabin crew."

Is that a first?

Did the police tell her to hop off the plane?

I got a kick out of that story.

It probably was Heather Mills. Sounds just like the kind of thing she would do. This is why you're not allowed to get "legless" on board airlines.

From the story:

How appropriate.

From the article;
She was taken to Crawley police station where she is being quizzed by officers

She made threats, threw her leg an ended up getting a pop quiz.

So do I. But then again, I really like "The Imp" from Game of Thrones.

That doesn't say anything about me, does it?

Seriously though, I had a friend's father down at the California DMV throw a hissyfit. They wouldn't issue him a temporary handicapped placard without a doctor's note and California had issued ticketed him for having an out of state handicapped placard. The clerk had also refused allowing him to talk to a manager; so he took off his prosthetic leg and pounded the counter loudly saying (just not quite a shout) "can you just issue me a handicapped placard, I lost my leg in Korea!" until they did issue the placard.    Oh, the security and Sheriff on site were all veterans, so they were actually cheering him on. (He was smiling and not a mean yell... just a projected voice.)

I hope someone puts their foot down against this kind of violence.
The plural of Airbus is Airbuses. Airbii is not a word.
There is no 787-800, nor 787-900 or 747-800. It's 787-8, 787-9, and 747-8.
A321neoLR is also unnecessary. It's simply A321LR.
Airplanes don't have isles, they have aisles.

People ought to know they should toe the line when it comes to aviation rules of the air.

I wonder how she would have felt had the boot been on the other foot.

Honestly, you give people an inch, they take a whole foot.

What about her partner? I guess heel be flying alone next time.

Gee, I wonder if she was drunk or on drugs when doing this

Guess she doesn't have a leg to stand on now (and possibly literally as it could have been taken as evidence).

Was she complaining about the lack of leg room ? Considering this was a holiday charter with tight seat spacing, even a legless person might complain.

Still, this was a very serious incident, she should face charges and banned from flying for a while.

I had a friend in school who had one leg. He had a state of Missouri handicap license plate on his car, but the university gave him a ticket for parking a in student lot handicap spot without a student handicap permit. When he went to apply for a permit the clerk demanded a doctors not even though he had a state plate. He removed his leg and waved it around, and got the correct parking permit.

Some prosthetic legs can cost in excess of $50,000. Not something you'd just want to toss around a cabin.

Legally, she hasn't got a leg to stand on.
Probably drink was involved - not a good idea getting so legless on a flight.
Unemployed the report says, well it was a budget carrier so the ticket would not have not cost an arm and a leg.
