Yes it is. They placed an order in 2008 for 22 and 5 more in 2010.

Not to take anything away from Boeing, the 777 and 787, but the 330 could be the model to tip the scales, with the outstanding NEOs yet to be firmed, plus 180 or so CEOs for China (inspite of the big Emirates 350 loss).

No, they added 10 777s according to the link you posted, but they are not necessary -300/ERs.

These 10 could be 777-9X for ET that's mentioned by rotating14 in reply 23.

We have to wait until early September for the monthly update see what type of 777s these were.

Nice to see more orders still. Almost at 1800 777 ordered now.

I'd be inclined to believe that it was for 77W's.

Thats a lot of wide body planes for KU. The transition phase which will start with the first delivery of the leased 7x 320 and 5x 330 give KU the ability to phase out old 320s , 310s and 300s as shown in KU presentation

Fleet Renewal

So fleet mix will include :
7x 320ceo
5x 332
4x 343
2x772ER
1x 744 Combi


However, with the assumed 77W order it will be an odd strategy for KU. Those brand new 77Ws will stay in fleet till at least 2026.
With more 10x 359 replacing the 5x 332s , KU will have high wide body fleet mix which i doubt KU can utilize such capacity and fill those planes. Given the nature of the Kuwaiti market which is relativity small for such capacity and relay heavily on O&D with no significant transfer hub.

It's interesting to know that 77W will be the largest plane KU owns in terms of seat numbers. The current 744 seats are F32Y326 only.

Cancellations are a fact of life. Given that orders have to be placed years in advance and many many things can change between order and when real money needs to be handed over as manufacture is about to start it is hardly surprising that some airlines find they no longer need that metal (or should that be plastic in the case of the 787?).

Lion Air / Batik Air has said they want to cancel their agreement to take five of the "Terrible Teen" 787s in favor of more 737 family airframes, so perhaps they have converted them to 10 737MAX.

We'll find out in due time who the respective customers are, so I shall leave my comments at that so as to not move the thread (any more) off-topic.

I'm confused about the Aerolineas Argentinas order for four new A330-200s.

In the January Airbus O&D summary AR had no A330s on order.

In the February Airbus O&D summary, the four orders are listed on the 'worldwide' sheet but NOT on the 2014 orders sheet.

They are still not listed as ORDERS for 2014 but still appear on the O&D sheet.

Any answers?
