Air Transat Western Canada-Mexico Equipment?

Mon Aug 25, 2014 4:29 am

What equipment does Air Transat use on their flights from Western Canada to Mexico? Flightaware shows 737, but the carrier does not have any 737-700 aircraft to my knowledge, only 737-800. FR24 does not show what equipment, and PlaneFinder does not even show these flights. I am specifically interested in the aircraft that operated TSC3421 on June 8 this year, as the flight was diverted to Seattle. Any information is much appreciated.

I believe they lease out the 737-700s from Enerjet, maybe someone else too.

I believe these are still operated by CanJet. The contract runs out this year and Transat has its own 737s coming from Europe.

The flights out west are operated by Enerjet with 700s. Transat & Canjets 800s are all out east, none out west yet.

Not necessarily. Canjet pilots started training Transat pilots on the 737 last November. So there should be plenty of Transat pilots on the 737 by now.

They have 5 738s in the fleet now.

As Whiteguy says, YVR anyway is all Enerjet 700.

That must really suck... having train your replacements

What are Canjet's plans post Air Tranast?
