According to USAirways.com, US will upgauge one flight to a A333 on PHL-MIA-PHL on 06NOV14.

Could this be the beginning of further A333 destinations out of MIA by LUS?

If you recall, US actually flew A333s commercially into MIA when they first received the type back in 2000.

It's possible. But I think it's more likely trying to take advantage of some downtime on the 330 fleet. A 4pm arrival back in PHL allows it to fly to Europe that night.

Awesome, now I don't have to fly to MCO to get a suites product on a domestic leg. I'm hoping the prices are low as always, one way fares up front are only around $250 USD, which is a bargain for me! 
I'm also trying to get on the 762 and Envoy 757, we'll see where that goes.

Interesting. Clearly a time slot that the plane may have been sitting on the ground anyway. But also maybe done to give AA ground crews in MIA some training and experience on the A330 for future plans?

Remember that for years (maybe still?) US flew an A333 waiting for the Euro bank down to SJU and back. Sending it to MIA seems quite natural, as its a hub and a bit closer to PHL in case of any delay.
I'd imagine that has something to do with it, as well.

They still do seasonally. They also fly the 332 seasonally PHL-SJU, as well as PHL-MCO and PHL-PUJ.

US has quite a bit of slack with the 330s in the winter. I suspect they will quickly cycle all of these frames into the paint shop once we get to the slow winter season.

On a similar note, I noticed US will be taking over some LAS flights in Feb, flying A321 from ORD-LAS.

The high passenger count and massive cargo load of A333 are a natural fit for Miami to points south, in the future.
