Quoting Frontier14 (Reply 3):

Whatever the new livery turns out to be, should be defined by " Ultra Low Cost Critters"

I have a squirrel in my backyard that works for peanuts.

Quoting F9Animal (Reply 21):
The animals are staying, thank goodness

I couldn't imagine they would get rid of the one thing that sets them apart visually.

Quoting scbriml (Reply 23):
not enough airlines with green in their schemes

Green is the new Black. Green is the color of trendy & popular concern, making green the "it" color.

Quoting whereitswarm (Reply 24):
Also, here is a picture from the repainting of the hangar in Denver suggesting they may be using the retro 'F' symbol from the old Frontier in the new logo
Quoting rikkus67 (Reply 49):
I am quite happy to see the final Frontier v.1 "F" come back. The 80's scheme is still among one of my favourites of that era

The homage to the original carrier is nice, and retro is definitely popular currently, however past us enthusiasts, I doubt too many folks will make the connection.

I hope the final product is better than what the building in Denver looks like, the lettering & the depiction of the F9 tail, looks odd & rather clumsy together.

I love the old "F" logo, always have. But to be nitpicky, the F itself was white, with red around it.

As I posted in the other thread, I knew Frontier not only obtained the name trademark but all of the logos from heritage Frontier when Continental let the rights go.

Granted it's been over 25 years but as someone very astute with Denver, I think this is a brilliant move combining the heritage logos. There are still quite a few former Frontier folks who work for the airline and when the company went out of business in August 1986 there was a tremendous amount of outpouring from the Denver community. It can't hurt Frontier with the Denver market by brining back some familiar looks, especially in the face of a massive change in business style.

I'm impressed with some of the steps new management has taken in regards to Frontier. This new livery change could only be an improvement over the hideous .com billboard scheme, and I'll be the first to cheer if they bring back the Saul Bass designed stylized "F"!

On another note regarding Frontier, I finally succumbed to my 12 year old daughters demands and bought her a roundtrip from SLC to DEN in November for her bday.   Breakfast in Denver, surrounded by the Frontier Zoo was her idea, I think shell have fun.

Also of note, I've seen a lot of new expansion from Frontier, any chance any of the new focus cities could see a flight or two to SLC?

In the nostalgia arena. I seem to recall AA new paint was also a return to an older era look from a lot of years ago. It seems there is a attempt to combine the old with the new. We are told history repeats itself.

I don't see any resemblance or tie in with AA's current scheme and any of their older stuff, apart from having an Eagle in it.
I'd love AA to ditch the new, but that won't happen.

Keeping with the legacy nod, the new hangar looks a lot like the old General Office and Hangar on Smith Road.

I don't know how I feel about the new titles-I think that the livery can make it or break it for me.

I absolutely LOVED the early 2000s era livery with "Frontier" written in cursive.

Probably one of the best new liveries ever unveiled. Simple and casual yet somehow very elegant. Love how the blue winglets contrast with the whites and greens on the fuselage.

I like the new livery. Really, it's much less of a complete overhaul of their brand image and much more of an evolutionary refresh. The basic concept is the same: billboard titles and animals on the tail, just with a visual refresh.

So far, Frontier seems to be winning the livery change category over WN.
I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day.

If this is the new livery, and it appears it may well be, it looks nice from my perspective. Do like the bigger animal presence and the green Frontier panel livery. Glad to see the FlyFrontier.Com be a thing of the past on the planes.

It's not bad, but neither is it good. The color of blue on the winglets in no way compliments the white and green of the fuselage. Also disappointing that the tail animal does not feature on the inside of the winglet (hoping this is just a missing feature in the ad which will show up on the real deal); it was nice to see the plane's theme character from inside.

On the plus side kudos for knowing a good brand image when you have it and enlarging the tail animals and keeping green as the focus color. However, the throwback F and "arrow" will only appease the nostalgia crowd (most of a.net it would seem). Airlines should be moving into the future and not making themselves look more 1970s-ish.

I think this is a totally new animal and not the return of an animal who had previously left the fleet.

With that said, I'm wondering if some of the existing animals will need to be retired due to the images not working well with the new proportions -- for instance, I don't see O'Malley the Mallard working with this unless they zoom in on his face? Either way, as long as Larry, Foxy, Jack, Flip and Griz stay, I'm happy.

The arrow yes will only interest the nostalgia crowd but the throwback F makes them have a logo again, the current logo (until 9/9) is dull and bland and a simple font with Frontier in green letters. I will admit it took me a little bit of time to get used to but I like it.

Unlike the WN livery revamp, the new F9 livery actually looks REALLY good.    It's essentially a much more classier version of the current F9 livery with a nod the much older liveries of the airline.

While it looks great on the A320, I'm not sure how well it will work on the E190s.

But let's be real, very few people are flying Frontier for the "brand" anyway.
'Cause you're on ATA again, and on ATA, you're on vacation!

RE: Frontier To Unveil New Livery On September 9

I really like this new livery; its just so unfortunate that Frontier has become so cheap, its a waste of a good livery on an ULCC.
