RE: FR Set To Place Order For 100 MAX + Options

Mon Sep 08, 2014 1:03 pm

Quoting flyglobal (Reply 48):
So it seems 200 Planes? Probably 100 orders and 100 purchase rights, or 200 Orders straight away.

I think "200" refers to the 200-seat option. FR will probably become the launch customer for this new configuration.

Hey guys,
I have heard again that the magic number is '200'...
The banner may confirm this...

Well I was on an Easyjet flight lasting 3 hours and was ready to be worked with by the end! I don't mind if the flight is an hour but any longer and less than 30 inches of seat pitch is unbearable!! Bad!

Quoting Frostyj,

Agree, fly FR a lot and anything over an hour or so is very tough. Don't know how anyone over 6 foot would do it.

Hi KarelXWB,
What's written on the rear fuselage under the Irish flag? I can't quite make it out.I'm guessing it says '737MAX 8' or the like ...
Cheers,

I don't really mind it. I recently flew FR on FUE-BCN (about 3 hours) and it was OK. Actually, slightly better than on either U2 or VY (Vueling).

I'm only 5'10", so that might explain it...

Why only 197 seats and not 200?

It's a 737 MAX-8 with 197 seats, re-branded to 737 MAX 200.

For every 50 pax there needs to be 1 flight attendant. So by having 197 they eliminate 1 extra flight attendant. One less staff member to pay. 3 vs 4.

Probably   Boeing confirmed the 737 MAX 200 is a MAX 8 variant.

http://www.newairplane.com/737max/customers/ryanair/

In fact, the full name is 737-8-200.
