First of all, it's Southwest (no capital W).

On the merits, I like the colors. I don't like the titles.

I think it looks terrible. The tail looks like Iberia's new livery at quick glance.

Gotta give them credit - they are consistently ugly when it comes to paint jobs - I've got no LUV for this one either.

Yikes. Personally, not a fan.

That blue isn't bad, but the red and yellow look too cartoonish - especially right next to each other. And that font looks awful.

I mean.. Really?

I like it. Something modern, new, up to date. Keeping the usual design too, and looks like it incorporates the old livery as well

That looks horrible... Compared to the new Frontier livery and the American 757 in new colors from today they put this to shame.

Yeah it's awful...It also looks like one of Spirit's old liveries that was aimed at leisure passengers in terms of the rainbow. I question whether an airline now aimed at business passengers needs that livery.

Seems like only yesterday the last of the brown and red 737s got painted. I think the present livery is distinctive and classy and would have help up for years to come. The new one? Not impressed.

Everybody wait 6 months. It probably will grow on you. Remember the flack American's new livery got? It's not soo bad now is it? With that said, I don't like it....lol. Perhaps they should've put the "Southwest" above the line of the windows.

Geez you can't please this site when it comes to liveries.

I think this could grow on me, I LUV canyon blue and this looks like a twist on that. Much more modern, and really looks bright and fun like the traditional WN culture. Would like to see some more pictures of it out of the hanger and of the whole aircraft.

It reminds me of a bowl of fruit from south of the border! I predict this will be called the "Fruit Bowl" livery. For me it has lot of Caribbean/Central American flair! You are right, they could have done better. Those white letters really stand out and not in a good way either. It looks unfinished.

Wow.

That is pretty much all I can say. I never really judged an airline based on a livery before, but this isn't Southwest. This seems better suited to some charter leisure carrier. It is just repulsive, and it totally moves away from Southwest's mission, in my opinion. It just doesn't fit in with it.

Southwest is a great airline, but this livery just makes me feel...mad.

Well it is, but that's not the point

I'm disappointed to see the Canyon Blue livery die, but this one really isn't so bad. The colors are pretty much the same, the basic design is pretty much the same, the only things that are drastically different are the font and the lack of the red belly. I also think it'll look much better in a higher-quality photo.

Nope. Otherway around. This is great. And shame on AA for finding a way to uglify a 757, since we're bringing that up.

This is good work. It's different to the norm, and recognizable, while preserving a lot of elements that we've all come to associate with WN.

Southwest used to have class
The old livery was not eye-catching but for sure iconic and showcased the airline's history perfectly
Now this livery looks like another new start-up LCC

By the way, I loved the new AA livery from the very beginning. This thing, however, is nothing compared to the new AA.

I'm hopeful the colors are a tad distorted in the photos and the hangar light.

In those pictures it appears to be strips of Santa red and Tonka yellow on a sea of periwinkle blue. Awful, awful combination of colors if that's what they look like in real life.

There are so many good color combinations which say everything from fresh to solid to retro to ethnic to conservative to daring to striking to safe to harmonious to clean to earthy to futuristic and everything in between. This set of colors, as they appear in those photos, say "colorblind".

I have no doubt there are good combinations of red/yellow/blue that could work well. But if these are actually what the shades will look like, what a catastrophe.

I happen to like some other things including the titles and the stripe width and placement. Certainly those could be argued...is the font too big or small, too safe or too much of a change, etc. But those colors are just a nightmare if they really match what the picture shows.

If the colors look a bit different in real life it might be fine in my book -- maybe even grow on me. But holy cow that periwinkle is awful with Santa and Tonka in those pictures.

One wonders how those colors will translate into signage, uniforms, marketing, etc.

At first glance I hated it. But I'm already coming around to it. The yellow should be gold, but other than that I think the font is great and the blue is nice.

I hope the interior is completely new!! With power ports.

I've always been a fan of the Canyon Blue and I still like it in this scheme. The typeface is nice I think, but the fast food "Burger King" tail I could do without. I get they're trying to go for desert themed colors here, but it just does not look (at least on the tail) like the right shade for the job. The "southwest.com" on the engines I think they could of done something better with.

Don't worry, it'll be around a good 6-10 years.

This new one really is terrible. Ketchup & Mustard tail with no logo, soft and flat titles. Very amateurish. Sit this plane next to Air New Zealand, Royal Jordanian, Air Canada, etc and it will be evident Southwest has employed children in their branding/marketing department. Besides not being euro-white there is literally not one redeeming quality to this livery.

Now we can go on to speculating a new UA livery since they are next on the list to get one. I hope it will be a slam dunk.

Meh

Not horrible, but I feel like someone at Southwest told the designers "give us something that looks like American's new livery but in Southwest colors." Sad to see the titles on the tail go away. That was very unique.

I personally find it gross in terms of colors and style. It looks a lot more childish and the "traditional" canyon blue is a more recognizable livery. They went for the American and jet blue "bubble letter" font style. IMHO as many others said I expected much more from an airline from southwest. They might as well use crayons to color it.

Just awful. 3rd graders look like they designed it and that font is so childish and repulsive. Are they trying to attract 5-year olds? And that mustard yellow has to go. The ketchup & mustard look is terrible.
