US Air Marshall Attacked In Nigeria

Tue Sep 09, 2014 4:25 pm

An on-duty Federal Air Marshal was stabbed with a syringe containing an unknown substance at the airport in Lagos, Nigeria.

The marshal was not severely injured by the needle prick, but it was unclear if it contained any hazardous or viral substances. The FBI said that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention "conducted an on-scene screening of the victim when United Flight 143 landed in Houston early Monday morning."

It appeared the stabber did not know the victim was an air marshal and it may have been a robbery attempt.

Robbery on a flight? That's amazing. I am surprised that more burglaries don't occur on flights, especially long ones, but a robbery, that's bold. A syringe too, hope they have the special cure at the ready!
Keep on truckin'...

I hope they gave him some Post-Exposure Prophylaxis immediately upon arrival.

Also, is there any ban on syringes being brought on planes for international flights to America?

sounds like a terrorist attack, trying to get disease to America? I do not see robbery evidence in the article. they just stick needle then run away? that sounds very suspicious.

and how did they know it was an air marshal? I mean the news people?
