Since I've been living in St. Louis I've noticed how well structured the airport is. We have three runways 12(L/R)/30(R/L) and 11/29. Now, both UA and DL benefit from the third runway. When they takeoff to or land from the west, it's just a short taxi between the terminal and runway 11/29. If they have to land from the east or takeoff to the east, runway 12L is right in front as well. AA is in the middle so there's no pros/cons. WN/FL are at a disadvantage in some aspect. Taking off to the west or landing from the west is OK but when they land from the east or take of to the east they have a longer taxi time.
Another example I can bring up is SJU: AA and US land/takeoff on runway 8 while the rest of the airlines land on runway 10. Takeoff is sometimes split between the two but usually ends up on runway 8. In SJU's case, AA/US benefit from shorter taxi times than the other airlines.
What other airports have this structure where at least one airline benefits from its position of being close to the active runways?

CMH has runways 28L/R and 10L/R.

28L/10R is on the Concourse A and Southern-facing Concourse B gate side of the airport, while 28R/10L is on the Concourse C and Northern-facing B gate side of things. (B is the "T" shaped concourse).
28L usually sees operations from WN, now the sole occupant of A, as well as US's A319 flights, which use B23, and some AA flights, which previously used B32-35 and have recently moved to the newly created B19 and B21.
Meanwhile, I don't think I've ever seen a DL flight use anything other than 28R when both runways are open. DL uses C50-56, a short taxi from either end of the runway. The same trend goes for US Express flights (B22, 24, 26), AC (B30), and UA (B28, 29, 30, 31). I'd imagine B20, which is now AA's, may play by the same rules.

In IAH, 15L/R are usually the runways for take off, and its closest to terminal A so the prime real estate goes to AA, DL and US.
On the flip side, 27 is used for arrivals in normal days and the UA flights that pull in to E can turn of the runway and literally go straight to the gate. The same can be said when 9 is used for takeoffs.
In SNA, AA, AS, and DL have the best gates as those are the shortest taxi tines to runway 19R.

And they owe a debt of gratitude to PSA for building Terminal 1 for precisely that reason. I'm still not sure why we (US) got kicked out of there back in January. The distance to the runway was so short we would run the entire Before Takeoff checklist before we called for taxi so we wouldn't get rushed!

JetBlue at JFK has an advantage when using 4 and 13L/31R for arrivals and 22 for departures.
Pretty much everybody at ISP, but the distance from Southwest's gates to the end of 33L is between 5 and 10 737-lengths depending on the gate. We pushed back from A8 once and the we were cleared for takeoff while we were still pushing back (I know flight attendants say that a lot while taxiing, but this time I actually believed her)!

If the 34s are in use at SEA, almost of the DL flights and all international flights have a quick taxi to departure.

In the case of this thread, there is one a bit related thing I'd wondered often about KAUS. F9 often takeoffs/lands from 17R/35L, but their gate is right over by 17L. The runways at KAUS are about a mile apart from each other, so how does the taxi time equate to the flying time? Wouldn't flying a mile be quicker than taxiing a mile? Or not at all?

I would say AA and south are best placed...everything on the north side of the terminal still has to wait 2 min for the engines to warm up, and at the far north end of the terminal (DL) you have to taxi all the way past the end of the runway into a cul-de-sac after landing.

In SIN, T3 is just next to runway 2L/20R so airlines using T3 (especially SQ) will benefit from the short distance. Similarly, 2C/20C is right next to T2. T1 is in the middle.

Yes, for departures, but not necessarily for arrivals... Half a dozen or so times that I have flown WN in to LAX I recall sitting stationary for 5-10mins, sometimes longer, somewhere on a taxiway whilst planes moving in and out of terminals from T2 - TBIT apparently block access to T1 for WN arrivals.
Could the T1 location for WN @ LAX be a disadvantage for arrivals??? IMO it is at times, but for departures it's great!

Definitely...and it's going to get worse now that US is out of T1 and WN is running more turns per gate per day than US possibly could. T1 is literally a box canyon....1-way in and 1-way out when taxiway E is backed up with a departure que. With the time-consuming widebody pushes onto taxiway D from T2 and T3, available inbound routes to T1 are limited to taxiway E where departures are stacked up in busy periods.

Though not when 31 is being used for departures, but when that happens the regular Delta terminal is in a nice spot.

In MAD, Iberia and its OneWorld Partners have a more convenient access from T4 and T4S to the departure runways, as well as, from the arrival runways to T4 and T4S..............all other carriers in Terminals T1-2-3 have a longer journey (both for arrivals or departures). This was one of the complaints of Air Europa when they didn´t get into Terminal 4 (the other noticeable complaint was that the train station for medium and in the future long distance high speed trains is also located in T4).

Yeah, but that cancels itself out when they have the long taxi on arrival. Conversely, when the 16s are in use, it's a convenient lazy roll-out and a long taxi for takeoff.
