Well here it is:
Peter Knapp, Global Creative Officer of Landor Associates, said: “Etihad Airways is undoubtedly a leading airline on the international stage and this new livery is a real step change in the industry. I believe there will be nothing like it on any apron in the world.

“It tells the remarkable story of this region and of Abu Dhabi’s past, present and future, providing a narrative for an innovative airline brand. We used the ambient geometry present in the architecture and culture of the emirate and reinterpreted it with a sense of Arabian modernism which has become synonymous with Etihad and Abu Dhabi itself.

Finally, the wait is over!
Thanks Miami for bringing these pics to the forum.
I would give it 9 out of 10.
In a previous thread, when just the tail was known, I suggested that the brilliant geometric design should be stretched along the top of the fuselage and finish around the 'level' of wing leading edge. They kind of have done that but terminated it closer to the tail than I had imagined. I would also have had it coming down lower on the rear fuselage, which they kind of have down but from underneath, it appears.
The font of the titles, and that dictatorial eagle symbol are the weakness.
Incorporating that eagle coat of arms style symbol reeks of British Airways' placement of their coat of arms.
I really really love the tail.
I really love the stretching of the geometric pattern onto the fuselage.
I really love the whole design concept... It is so what I would've chosen for the airline if I was James Hogan.
I love the fuselage colour.
I don't like the eagle symbol - too 'police state'.
I hate the font used for the titles.
Can't wait to see the Dreamliner in these colours...
And as to other airlines getting this scheme... I suggested that too in the previous thread. I cannot see however, Alitalia losing it's iconic tail, nor Virgn Australia it's 'Virgin' tail, nor Aer Lingus losing it's shamrock...so what's the point? Etihad Regional should adopt this scheme, and maybe 'Etihad Serbia' and 'Etihad Berlin' will take on an appropriately colored variation of the scheme to suit their respective flags (and make the latter look like Deutsche BA's 'Bauhus' world tail
scheme) ...
I love the new scheme, great work Etihad! A classy airline just got classier!
Cheers,
Bunumuring.

Airlines should place their Corporate logo on the tail. Plain & simple. Otherwise, it just look like a "bunch of nothing" on the tail. (examples are: BA's world tails, Frontiers animals, etc....)

Hmm looks like most of the livery was already unveiled with the tail preview. Would have to see it in real life, though I think I already miss the old colours, so classic, especially having flown with them four times from Canada to the Indian Subcontinent. The colours are trendy but I guess it would take some getting used to. Those colours are already in the cabin so it's both this way inside and out.

I think they could have splurged with the Etihad titles, like really really big on the A380 at least, would have helped cover large almost blank forward fuselage.

The uniforms (at least for the ladies) have probably changed as there was talk of that. Hope they aren't decked in those checkered squares and have limited the tail design only to their head scarves.

Well, if they wanted to do something really different I have to say: mission accomplished!

One of the most unique liveries I've seen is a long time. Innovative yet classy. I like the shapes and the color mix. Very evocative of the desert.

I like it a lot.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here? I'm Australia and have never been 'Stateside' in my life, but I guarantee I'd know a F9 aircraft if I saw one. Because of the animal tails. EY could easily have the same effect over time.

Abu Dhabi flag is no more in use since December 1971, so don't look for it in the airplane.
As for the coat of arm, EY always promote that they are the national carrier of UAE, and obviously the country logo is needed, in this new livery they included the flag infront , which means something to EK.
Locally, they keep promoting that they are the nation airline and they connect the UAE capital to the world...etc.
This livery didn't surprice me, as it relates to the city in a way or another.
Good luck EY

For everyone still calling it eurowhite, look at Post 6, by Miami

Look at the wing-body join color. THAT is eurowhite, the fuselage is not eurowhite. It is like a pearl color.

So not working that story, why does EY even exist its should have been EK second hub at AUH, like Air Arabia re doing at Ras al Khaimah.

The tail is nice glad socialist state carrier look is going, titles should have remained billboard with a newer look for the Arabic one atleast but would have liked the English one changed too like the former United titles thick and probably in brown to stand out more, crest should have been near cockpit instead of flag, always prefer flag next to registration, it should be an industry rule and a size limit too, white engines complement white bits on tail so its ok, some of the designs should also have appeared upfront just scattered here and there like leaves.

I love it. EY is not trying to market itself as an airline, it's trying to market itself as a flying hotel. And this branding succeeds.

Can one of our more talented members perhaps show us the livery on an A320, or 77W?

The sneak peeks of the tail that we have been seeing for awhile now made it seem like (to me anyway) that is was going to be something outside-the-box and really special...but it seems like now it was just a tease all along.

Tail looks great, the rest...well...

Very good. A shame they couldn't carry over the tailfin pattern to the engine nacelles though - the white will stand in awkward contrast to the shimmery champagne fuselage.

The tail design does not fit the rest and the titles are too small on an A380 IMO. This is a bad design. Wow what a step backwards for this airline.

Nice one. Slightly less wow that what I expected but definitely beautiful, classy, unique and expressive. Give it time and it will be as iconic as Emirates and Qantas colours.

Glad they copied BA's crest placement and size, that eagle doesn't need to be bigger than this lol.

I know it is all subjective but what is classy about a bunch of multicoloured triangles on a white plane?

If you give a baby some crayons and those specific colours he would likely come up with such a design, It is all over the place.

What do the triangles stand for.. The various stages of leftover slices of Pizza as it Molds?

I have to say this livery is brilliant! The gold and brown tones beautifully represent the landscape of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The geometric shapes mimic the modern architecture present in the city and country as well. It was very well thought out. I am really curious to see what the fuselage looks like in daylight as it appears to be a metallic/pearl gold color. My guess is the 787s engines will be white so they've decided to keep it standard across the whole fleet.

I add myself to the "I like it" group. Simple and yet elegant in a way. The coat of arms is terribly designed in general so its nicer its stays "smaller" - I would say its a bit like British Airways' to add the Landor "coat of arms" subtly on the fuselage...

I have to constitute that the "interior" of Etihad is as well designed with elegance as compared to the glaring/blinding (and very tacky) gold gold gold of Emirates. The "geometrical" motif sits well with the beautiful blankets and pillows.

Everybody is a critic... I wonder how the overall livery would look like with the "engines" being in the darker beige/orange-ish colour. I think it would take the attention from the "empty" mid and front section of the plane.

It does look better on the 787, with its relatively smaller tail. The A380 tail is just too big (visually; I'm sure Airbus made it exactly as big as it needed to be) and so it makes the design look too garish.
