787 Routes #9 (Revamped!)

Sat Sep 27, 2014 4:27 am

Given the large number of operators, routes and sectors, i've revamped the presentation of the stats.
Enjoy!

How about LAN, SCL-LIM-LAX?
My posts/replies are strictly my opinion and not that of any company, organization, or Southwest Airlines.

You don't have ET ADD-IAD. 787s are back on the route 5 times a week.

I do not believe the 787-9 for Virgin will fly LHR-ATL. It is scheduled to be an A330

From what I have read elsewhere the inaugural flight only will be on the 787-9 and after that it will be operated by the A330

CC-BBI entered revenue service today. On 12JAN15 Aeroméxico will deploy the 787-8 on the MEX-SCL route on certain days. Aeroméxico will be the second 787 operator at SCL and SCL will be Aeroméxico's first 787 destination in South America! Both LAN and Aeroméxico will offer 787 flights between SCL and MEX simultaneously.

Well they fit a lot of people in there and it costs less than a similarly sized 763 or 772 so thats why

Very nice hkcanadaexpat!
A suggestion, but in your next revision could add which routes are operated by a 787-9? That would be even better...

Nice work hkcanadaexpat. I'm curious: in your 'Airport Rankings (by carrier)' list at the bottom of the chart, you state that JFK is served by AC. Is this the case?

I might be misinterpreting the chart; does it refer to how many carriers serve a particular airport using a 787? If so, I see UA listed, and Norwegian omitted, so I must be reading your intent incorrectly.
The nice thing about a mistake is the pleasure it gives others.

Ethiopian Airlines 502 ADD-FCO-YYZ and the return seem to be operated by a 788. This would bring YYZ to 5 operators (AC, BA, LOT, ET, Hainan).

Its been on and off 787 for last 6 months and these days mostly off. Have been flying 777 for at least the last 30 days. ETH doing a good job adjusting capacity to routes with 787/777 swapped between ADD-YYZ/IAD/CAN/PEK very frequently depending on demand. wouldn't be surprised to see it back anyway now!

Great job hkcanadaexpat this is a very interesting table.

One question, where did you get the information about Qatar Airways sending the 787 to Heathrow in March? I assumed the plane was too small for their LHR operations and have not seen anything to suggest they will send it back to LHR. I'd be very glad to see it again coming into London though.

Cheers.
