Rumor - MAS New CEO - Chris Mueller Of Aer Lingus

Tue Oct 07, 2014 2:55 pm

A couple media stories out there that Christoph Mueller of Aer Lingus will become the new head of Malaysia Airline.

Mueller joined Aer Lingus in 2009 and earlier summer announced his departure once his contract expires in May 2015.

If turns out to be true I think its a good choice. I'm impressive that MAS’s majority shareholder Khazanah followed through on its comments to hire a non-Malaysian outsider to lead the company as it restructures.

Difficult to believe - but will certainly be a good choice. All the best to MH and Mueller!

Well I guess we can kiss the possible 787 order goodbye. Expect MH to become all Airbus

Likewise. Good choice and exactly what is needed for some real re-structuring...

Was the 787 for MH really that realisitc of an idea? I know it was discussed in here, but that's pretty much it...

The 747s are basically gone (1 standby one as an A380 replacement???) and the 777s are on the way out. The A330 and A380 will be the MH medium to long haul fleet. That has been the plan for some time. As the 737s have been the plan for the short haul fleet...
