Hawaiian 767-300 At MCI

Wed Oct 15, 2014 12:58 am

I noticed a HA 767-300 departing MCI last night for PHX and tonight I see one arriving from PHX. This is not scheduled service and cannot find any information on why these a/c would be making an appearance at MCI. I know that there are some maintenance operations at MCI but never noticed any HA at that facility and I cannot find anything in the web.

Also, both the departing and arriving a/c were described on flightaware.com by their registration number. Last night it was N583HA and tonight it was N5387.

Can anyone shine some light on this?

There is a Maintenance base that does work on 767's where AA/TW's old hangars used to be. That might be why unless the Kansas City Chiefs use Hawaiian for charters like the Oakland Raiders.

Way back in the day, HA used to send their L-1011s there when it was a TWA maintainence base.
