Yes I believe so, I have seen both B772s G-VIIX and G-YMMG at LHR with the new bright white paint and crest.
I also noticed on one of the B772s with the new paint, it had a grey patch fitted on both sides of the fuselage in the same place.
A lot of BA B744s seem to carry patches, what necessitates a patch a to be fitted?

And I have another question in addition to whether 'VJ has multi-coloured 'dreamflight' titles and nose logo.

After it completed the LHR-MCO charter flight (BA9117C, call sign BAW1DF (Dream Flight)) it was positioned MCO-ATL as BA9151P. It then operated ATL-LHR as BA9122C on 22 October before returning to scheduled service operating LHR-YYZ (BA099) on 23 October.

Does anyone know what the ATL-LHR charter flight was all about?

Until some years ago BA used to operate an MCO-LHR-MCO charter flight selling return seats on the Dreamflight aircraft for its homeward flight and on the return flight to collect the kids. Then came the credit crunch. Then they either left the Dreamflight aircraft parked in the general aviation area at MCO for the week or ferried it home to return it to scheduled operations until it was time to return to MCO to collect the children.

I am wondering if BA are operating a charter like they used to but from ATL rather than MCO?

Yes B772 G-VIIX is painted in new bright white colours with crest, as I saw both G-VIIX & G-YMMG at LHR last weekend.
I have not seen B772 G-VIIE since it has been painted in new bright white colours.

YMMG returned to service on 17 September, VIIE on 2 October and VIIX on 15 October.

734 G-DOCB was retired on 10 October and ferried to Cranfield on 23 October for Cranfield University. Was it in full or basic livery for the ferry flight?

The first of the ten 'new' 320s to be based at LGW, G-GATJ, is scheduled to be delivered by the end of the month. It has been parked at WOE since 26 February and was last reported there on 19 June in full Onur Air 21 Anniversary livery. It should be in or waiting to go into a paint shop somewhere if it has not already been painted.

G-YMMJ is next on 27/Oct, followed by G-BNLF on 7/Nov.

Quoting BA174 (Reply 14):
Surprised they're bothering with G-BNLF!

G-BNLF was originally planned to be retired in September. It had clocked up 106,535 flying hours as at 31 December last. The retirement was scheduled to be just before it was due for major routine maintenance.

Instead it was ferried to CWL for that heavy maintenance on 13 September. It was returned to service on 4 October when it operated the BA289 service to PHX.

I believe it is one of five 'Mid J' configured BA 744s still fitted with the Old F Class cabin that BA announced on 18 June are being dedicated to operating BA043/42 (CPT), BA085/84 (YVR), BA275/74 (LAS) and BA289/88 (PHX). On these flights the airline will not sell F Class seats. However it will use the F Class cabin with a J Class service for an overflow for high status J Class passengers if the J Class cabin is sold out. Note here that five aircraft are required to operate these four services as the CPT flight is away from LHR for around 36 hours.

So it looks as if there could be quite a bit of operational life left in this old girl yet.

From time to time I still see A319s in Dove livery on approach to LHR - I was just wondering when they will be repainted - will they just be brought back to standard livery when their 'normal' painting cycle comes around or will they be brought in early?

Atlanta Falcons I believe.

G-CIVJ has now operated the return charter flight LHR-ATL (BA9123C) carrying the Falcon's supporters home after their Wembley game against the Detroit Lions.

The selection of the same aircraft for this flight more than suggests that it will position to MCO to collect and bring home the Dreamflight children and that it has 'dreamflight' titles.

Yes. I believe it depends on the bandwidth you need. The BA aircraft only have telephones and ACARS on the satelite. No TV or Internet, so a flat plate antenna is enough.

This was reported as being an aerial for the Panasonic Global Communications Suite Wi-fi System. I believe this System was meant to be a one year trial of what is called 'High Life Connect'. Do we know anything more about this trial or the future of 'High Life Connect'?

Quite a while since BA have done this.

Likely to mark the centenary of the start of World War I.

There were a series of aircraft rolled out each year in October or November between 1996, the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the Royal British Legion, and 2003. Each year they appeared in advance of Armistice Day on 11 November.

They were:

Oct 96: 752 G-BIKC
Nov 97: 732 G-BKYG
Nov 98: 734 G-BVNM
Nov 99: 752 G-BIKW
Oct 00: 752 G-BIKR
Oct 01: 752 G-BMRB
Oct 02: 752 G-BPEK
Oct 03: Concorde G-BOAF

The last of these 'poppy' aircraft, Concorde G-BOAF, had operated a supersonic flight over the Bay of Biscay (BA9022C).on 24 October before it landed between 'AE and 'AG on the last day of Concorde operations. Two days later it was rolled out of the Concorde hangar at LHR with a Flanders' Poppy on its fuselage with additional 'Poppy Appeal 2003' and 'ROYAL BRITISH LEGION' fuselage titles for a photo shoot.

Scroll down here and click on the thumbnail to view the promotional image of the Poppy Concorde:

http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/abou...he-poppy-appeal/90th-photo-gallery

It was then immediately rolled back into the hangar never to be seen in public with the promotional decals still in place.

The BA Source has now confirmed that 772 G-YMMJ returned to service on 7 November after being repainted in Union Flag White Crest livery. So:

145. . EUYY (WWBB). . 34th 320. . . . . . . 18 Sep 14. . . (TLS)
146. . VIIE. . . . . . . . . . . . 7th 772. . . . . . . . .2 Oct 14. . . (LHR)
147. . VIIX. . . . . . . . . . . . 9th 772. . . . . . . .15 Oct 14. . . (LHR)
148. . YMMK. . . . . . . . . 10th 772. . . . . . . .25 Oct 14. . . (LHR)
149. . YMMJ. . . . . . . . . 11th 772. . . . . . . . 7 Nov 14. . . (LHR)

In Reply 13 tcx59k stated that 744 G-BNLF was scheduled to follow 'MJ into the LHR paint shop. It arrived back at LHR from YVR yesterday (9 November) lunchtime but there have been no reports of its movements since then.

Has anyone seen 744 G-CIVJ since it operated the annual Dreamflight on 17 October. If so does it have lower case, multi-coloured 'dreamflight' fuselage titles?

Quoting WinterLight (Reply 33):

G-MEDF, like all the other former BD aircraft, was an early recipient of the Union Flag Crest livery. However they all had the Pearl White rather than the current White version.

'EF was the 40th aircraft and fifth 321 rolled out with the Crest livery. You will find the first 50 aircraft painted with this livery in Reply 27 here:

BA Livery News Part 3 (by skipness1E Mar 9 2013 in Civil Aviation)

As you will see 22 of the first 42 aircraft to receive the Crest livery were former BD aircraft.

I would be surprised if any of these aircraft needed to be repainted again after such a short period. I would expect most if not all the former BD aircraft to remain with the Pearl White version for another four or five years. So I am wondering if a trick in the lighting conditions gave an impression of it now being painted White rather than Pearl White. This can happen particularly in very bright light.

NLF was due to follow MMJ. However IVU entered the paint hangar instead on 11/Nov for the repaint of its wings/engines. This will be followed by IVJ on 15/Nov for some minor paint work and then MMS on 16/Nov for a full repaint.

The only ex-BD aircraft due for repaint within the next 2 years are BCB and BCD in Jul 2015 and BCK in Oct 2016.

It is interesting to learn that there is a provisional repaint schedule stretching out over 24 months although your comments on BNLF show the plan's flexibility virtually up to the last day.

Yes there is a schedule for the next 2 years but as you say it changes an awful lot! Actual aircraft not so often (NLF aside!  ) but dates do tend to change a lot, not surprisingly really considering the operation.

Thanks TCK69K. Good new to hear doves being repainted.

I don't want to start a retro debate but surely BA could bring us some heritage A319s

The doves deserves some colour!

BA/IAG, come on!

G–YMMS entered the paint hangar today for a full repaint. Slightly later than planned due to G–YMMB needing it's all white rudder repainting. (One of four aircraft currently with an all white rudder!    ) This will be followed by G–YMMD and then Iberia A346 EC–IQR. That will be the lot for this year.

Thanks for the update. Certainly quite a few white/grey cowlings and rudders about.

Any date known for the IB ? Worth keeping an eye out in case of a photo opportunity.

Been having a look at the current fleet repaint schedule. By the end of 2016 there will still be 81 A/C not white and 36 A/C with no crest. There is however 22 unallocated slots at MAD so them numbers could come down. So still a way to go yet!

Thanks TCX69K, does that 81/36 include aircraft leaving fleet 2016-18? Imagine many 744s, maybe even early 772s may not see paint shop again? When NEOs arrive maybe ex BMI aircraft or early BA 319s (EUP*s) will leave too and not need repainting?

Ok......
So earlier this morning ., G-EUPB 319 taxied past me on echo in a real mismatch scheme.

Looks like it is still in the off white, but with a crest, and a new white rudder .
Added to this is a nose cone in new white with the blue line higher than the body line,
Giving a small " Z " shaped zig zag of the blue colour.

Needs a bit of TLC I think....

'PB was the ninth BA aircraft and their seventh 319 to be painted into the original Union Flag Crest Pearl White livery. It re-entered service after painting at LHR on 5 July 2012.

BNLN has not flown since the 26th Nov. The poppy has probably been removed now.

It's actually 83/38. I can't count! That doesn't include any A/C leaving the fleet after the end of 2016*.

It's hard to tell if/when anymore A/C will be leaving the fleet because some of the older A319's, B747's and B777's are due a repaint before the end of 2016 but some of the newer ones are not. That could just be because it hasn't been as long since they were last painted.

*Having said that, G-EUUA–H are not due a repaint either, so I'd guess these A/C will be leaving the fleet within the next year or so.

None of the ex-bmi A321's are due a repaint but they were only done pretty recently anyway. 4 A319s & 1 A320 are.
