Attn LHR Spotters: New UL 333

Sun Nov 09, 2014 3:05 am

LHR Spotters, the first A330-300 of UL, sporting a special livery, is operating its first revenue flight to LHR today (09NOV14) as UL505. Flight is currently ETA0830L. A good opportunity to capture this bird on photo.

Also, does anyone know whether this is one of the longest scheduled A330-300 flights ever (11.5h nonstop) ?

It has to be up there, but surely it can't be unusual for flights of that length for these aircraft. Do SK,LX use them on longhauls from Europe to China, Japan, Seattle etc?

Longest A333 flight is TK 5 from IST to ORD. Longer distance wise and time wise than CMB-LHR. 11h45min.

TK 5 is operated by a mix of A332/A333, but the longest A333 flight nonetheless.

Longest A332 flight in the world is DL from SEA to HKG.

SU also sends the A333 on DME-LAX. They have been doing this for over two years. Next year this flight will be upgauged to a 77W.

Pretty neat, I have to say. Suits the A330 pretty good.

Huh?

First of all, its SVO-LAX, and second, the flight is operated by an A332. The A333 doesn't have the legs for SVO-LAX.

Last August, I saw TK A333 TC-JNZ at NRT on the IST service, must be up there with the longest A333 routes. Sure was a nice sunny afternoon at LHR today, the Colombian Govt BBJ was a treat as well as the UL A333.

I think it does. Pretty sure there was a thread on it being amongst the longest A330-300 routes.

If it did operate SVO-LAX, there's a reason it doesn't anymore.

An A333 on SVO-LAX would be very payload restricted.

It is now an A332, for good reason !

Very nice, should be the standard livery IMHO.

It's not really that much of a "special livery" is it?
