AC New Safety Video

Sat Nov 22, 2014 4:36 am

My apologies if this has been posted before, but it appears that AC has a new safety video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8re9lf7zbE

I like it, but I think I liked the previous one a bit better, maybe because of the music. Some of the people in the video look too serious, almost like robots.

Very nice, understandable, smooth safety video. I like it.

Well done AC, you have probably made the worst video of 2014

Why? Because it is not humorous like other airlines?

AC has already had this video taken down from other video sharing sites as this is not the final copy of their new in flight safety video. There were many continuity errors in this copy and it by no means is the final product. Stay tuned for the official video.

I think it's classy and simple. Nothing wrong with it.

Thanks for sharing. Showing what I perceive is an implied gay couple following the various safety steps throughout is pretty cool!

Simple, instructional and inclusive.

No need for fancy jokes. It works.

I for one like it. It's not as arty as the previous one, but it's certainly nice.

There was the one light-hearted moment, showing the overhead with a stuffed beaver, maple syrup, and some other Canadiana items.

The only thing that I think could have been changed is the English voiceover-it seems slow and too synthetic.

I precisely thought the same thing! It amazes me to see how far society has come...that would not have been tolerated 10 years ago.

Four and a half minutes?!? No surer way to have your target audience tune out. No reason you can't fit in all the required info - in both languages - in three minutes or less.

Quoting threepoint (Reply 13):

It is shorter than the old one. You would have to be speaking very fast to get both languages through in 3 minutes. Most safety videos average four minute anyways.

Or use an economy of speech. Less is often more, especially when communicating an important message.
