Is BA No Longer Flying The A380 To Singapore?

Mon Dec 08, 2014 4:18 pm

Just tried to book a flight on BA from LHR-SIN and both daily flights were with a B747 and B777 respectively.

I thought BA were flying the A380 to SIN, or at least that's what it says on their website.

Any inside info would be helpful, thanks.

Thanks - looks like they don't sell First class on any of the services either?!

Is it scheduled to go daily at any point?
Let's fly! Unless it's on a CRJ 200, then I'll stay down here.

I found F seats, maybe they're just sold out for the days you need? Or are you looking for redemption seats? Those may be harder to find. But yes, they do sell F seats on the SIN services.

Sound like mileage redeemable. BA like most airlines are very selective on which flights/dates/class of service they permit seats to go against frequent flyer mileage or upgrades using miles.

hat are redemption seats?

Using airmiles (avios in BA's case) to book seats.

All BA's services to SIN (A380, 747 or 777) have First.

BA do very well with F class to SIN. Shipping, finance, diplomatic and corporate traffic is big on this route.
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz

This is one of those routes where the F cabin does financially justify its existence. I am sure getting an F seat with avios is probably very hard. As for not seeing F it is entirely possible it is just sold out. All the finance industry traffic, wealthy expats and the like, F might flat out just be sold out. BA would not use a 3 class 777 on this route.
