I saw the 789 trailing over West Sussex yesterday at around 11am at FL390 - she looked good even at that height !
Unusual routing heading down over France, western Switzerland and Italy rather than over central Europe and the Balkans.

That looks like an odd flight path for that route, any reason for it? Would it not be quicker for it to fly a similar route as QF2 and all the other EK aircraft? I know the wind can put a route off slightly but this seems way off.

From the press release:

Quote:
Etihad’s first A380 will make its debut on the popular London Heathrow route, from Abu Dhabi International Airport, in December. By the end of 2015, Etihad Airways will have five A380s in operation, with plans to introduce the aircraft on the airline’s Sydney and New York JFK routes.

I like that they plan to send the A380 to JFK.

Nice livery, Well done Etihad. Both aircrafts looks very spacious, however, colour of the sit is little pale than my liking.

Those apartments or whatever, they look brilliant but to me, they still don't justify the price tag. First class itself is good enough. I mean what else you going to provide in that apartment? personal toilet is there, good food, area to stretch your legs...you can' do anything apart from that...shower?

Cheers.

You can really tell the difference in the Y class seats A380 vs B787 in those photo's. Interesting to compare on one of the few current airlines that fly both types.

Assuming the pillows are the same size on both types, the width difference looks quite apparent.

Heard the Apartment seats and Residence seats do not recline or recline a very small amount. This means no relax mode in the seat. I hope that is not true as it would be a huge gaffe.
