Thanks you for your answers.

So no A380 on YUL? and no 747 on SFO?

I will have to book to YUL, so one of the last chances to fly an AF 747 before retirement.

F-GEXB was retired from service 2 months ago, still in CDG?

AF342/345 is not operated by 744, its operated by mix of 777-200ER and 777-300ER (3 class non COI). YYZ is slated for the 744.

Flew the 744 out of Pearson last summer and it was packed! They may switch to 77W at least if they expect the same number of PAX on that route.

I'll be flying AF342 on Tuesday March 31st as a Chief Purser and it's a B744.

AF356/351 is scheduled with a B772ER

SFO will have a Daily A380 (AF084/083) + 5 x Weekly B772ER starting June 2nd

According to:

http://airlineroute.net/2015/01/02/af-744-s15update1/

Paris CDG – Atlanta AF688/689 Daily
Paris CDG – Boston AF338/333 Daily
Paris CDG – Mexico City AF438/439 Daily
Paris CDG – Montreal 29MAR15 – 03MAY15 AF342/345 Daily
Paris CDG – Toronto 08JUN15 – 30AUG15 AF356/351 Daily

So, in relation to the debate above: YUL up until 3 May, and YYZ from 8 Jun onwards - so you are all correct!

Is there any date for the end of 744 service on CDG-MEX? What would AF send to MEX then? 777-300ERs?
Upcoming flights:
May: AM MEX-CUN 73H (Y), AM CUN-MEX 73W (Y).
August: KL MEX-AMS 74M (J), KQ AMS-NBO 788 (J).

MEX being a hot and high airport, it has A380 written all over it, once the airport is ready to accept it of course.

So we might see the 77W operate the route for a short while until the airport is ready to accept the whalejet.
us Air Traffic Controllers have a good record, we haven't left one up there yet !!

Bonjour,

Great thread ! Air France & the 747 is by far my favourite airline / aircraft combo and I'll be really, really sad when they're all withdrawn from service.

When is the final flight supposed to be ? 2015 or 2016 ?

I flew CDG-MEX vv between Christmas and New Year just for having the extreme pleasure of spending a few hours on the upper deck of an AF 747, and I'm looking forward to doing it again before it's too late.

It has been one of the greatest flights in my life: amazing crew, great food, great comfort (I flew on one of the recently retrofitted frames with a brand new IFE), ice cream, champagne...and the unique feeling of being on a 747. There's nothing like climbing those stairs. Flying on the upper deck of an AF 747 is definitely among the best experiences one can have in Y class.

Air France can be very inconsistent but this time both flights were excellent. Even CDG is a pleasant experience, terminal 2E is a great place and the food offering in the lounge has been greatly improved.
