Azul Flagship A330 On First New Daytime FLL Flight

Azul started a second flight to FLL today (1/4/2014). I understand the route is doing well beyond the expectation of Azul with over 33,000 seats sold so far with the one daily hence the second flight for the winter (which i believe is 3 times a week and run through March- if i go that right)

To kick it off in style, Azul brought their A330 flagship on the afternoon arrival.

Does Azul have 5 A330s now? Do they only goto MCO and FLL? Does each of those routes require 2 planes?

No. IIRC they couldn't get them in time before the start of service but will once they get more aircraft.

What's with Brazil's Flag Carrier? Virgin Atlantic's was a funny way of messing with BA. Everyone with an IQ greater than a watermelon would get it. But this is just tacky and pretentious!

They are appealing to brazilian pride. When RG was flying, it was the pride of brazilians abroad. Their stores were in the best places around the world and they were recognized as a top class airline. When RG died, only JJ kept flying overseas and the brand has nothing linking it to Brazil and well... They don't have that great of a fame. Azul is trying to grab the same kind of fame RG had, even though times changed.

I understand the # 6 aircraft is in the paintshop or going into the paintshop shortly and it will be special color scheme too!
