Quoting American 767 (Thread starter): Time to enjoy a nice and warm Irish Coffee. |
Quoting AmricanShamrok (Reply 2): 20 DUB-bound aircraft have been diverted so far this afternoon due to crosswinds. |
Quoting OA260 (Reply 1): Nice to see some humour at EI ! |
Quoting OA260 (Reply 5): WOW Air have some decent prices for the new DUB-KEF route |
Quoting ClassicLover (Reply 6): Brilliant!! |
Quoting ClassicLover (Reply 6): If you haven't been to Iceland |

Quoting EIRules (Reply 14): I'd have thought it more likely a 757 than the A330. Too much aircraft to fill and could the runway even handle the A330? |

Quote: It [Aer Lingus] also has to renew part of its fleet and is due to take delivery of 18 Airbus craft before 2020. |
Quoting Phen (Reply 17): On a more serious note, I was doing some reading about the IAG bid and came across this which somebody may be able to shed light on: Quote: "It [Aer Lingus] also has to renew part of its fleet and is due to take delivery of 18 Airbus craft before 2020." We all know about the 9 x A359 on order but where is this 18 coming from? Are there other aircraft on order somewhere? |

Quoting frostyj (Reply 23): So wait is this just for a pilgrimage to NYC (um???) or is it an attempt at starting up a route? |
Quoting frostyj (Reply 25): why they would go on a pilgrimage to NYC lol. |
Quoting SuperSix2 (Reply 29): A bit off topic but by any chance does anybody remember the name of the bar in Dublin airport that looked over the main apron (not the current bar, but the one from 15-20 yrs ago) |
Quoting bestwestern (Reply 30): Skyline comes to memory |
Quoting OA260 (Reply 31): I just about remember it and took some pics from there of the A Pier if we are talking about the same place. A long corridor which looked out |
Quoting EI121 (Reply 33): Just a quick question. I noticed that todays EI147 is being operated by a A333. Why does EI use a A332 generally for this route especially during the peak summer months (May-Sept) ? Would it not be more profitable to use the A333 for its extra capacity during these months? |
Quoting Eagleboy (Reply 33): A333 capcity more profitable to get 2 sectors per 24 hours (4 in 48 hrs) on East Coast routes. DUB-SFO-DUB would be only 3 sectors in 48 hours. A333 being used once a week until the cabin refit is complete. Currently EI only have a single -200 in the active fleet. (Cabin refit and Novair lease have the other 2) |

(Cabin refit and Novair lease have the other 2) It makes so much sense now that you mention it. I always thought the same with FR operating 4+ hour routes. Wouldn't they make more money with tickets, bags, seat selections etc. by operating 2 return trips than one long return trip. |

Quoting EIBoston (Reply 35): But doesn't the 147/146 rotation get back in under 24 hours? Couldn't they use 2 A333's to work 147/146 and 109/108 during the summer? |
Quoting clydenairways (Reply 36): Maybe the 332 and 333 have different crew rest facilities installed, it was a bit of an issue a few years ago but i can't remember how it ended up. I think WW wanted to launch Cape town but this was one of the issues. Another factor is payload, because of DUB's short runway maybe the 332 can lift more load than the 333 due to the lighter airframe. |
Quoting bx737 (Reply 41): Last year I bought tickets at the door of the Holiday World Fair. I can't see any reason for it to be different this year. I got lots of Westjet goodies last year among other bits and bobs |
Quoting frostyj (Reply 47): I don't think the 737 max could reach the middle east from Ireland. |
