Quoting Kashmon (Reply 2): Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia, China, New Zealand , Thailand are all countries with many flights but limited American service. |
Quoting MIflyer12 (Reply 6): I confidently predict that, at the end of 2015, Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Thailand will STILL be without AA service, irrespective of how many aircraft are delivered or how many AA retires. It's not a lack of capable aircraft -- it's viable markets and AA strategy. |
Quoting ckfred (Reply 7): Might AA slow the pace of retirements of the MD-80, 752, and 763 fleets, if the price of oil stays low, say under $60 a barrel? In watching CNBC, no one is predicting oil to go up to the $80 level, and there are some analysts who think oil could go down to $35 a barrel. |
Quoting deltaflyertoo (Reply 9): If they slow retirements then they are also adding capacity (as the new a/c come online) which ultimately will drive down ticket prices. WIth uncertain times ahead in the economy (as of this week's Wall Street Thinking) it would be best to maintain current (or cut) capacity in hopes of maintaining current profit levels-which by keeping to the retirement plan in place shouldn't be difficult. |

Quoting DeltaXNA (Reply 20): with all the expansion planned for asia and the replacement of the 767-300, did AA order enough 787's? 42 doesn't seem like enough. Are they planning to order more? |
Quoting Sooner787 (Reply 22): I doubt we'll ever see 100 AA 787's in service |

Quoting AFCJETS (Reply 27): Will AA 787s have two or three class cabins? |
