Miss. St. Charter Engine Failure

Sun Feb 15, 2015 6:10 am

Seems as though after getting a win against Missouri, the Mississippi State basketball team's chartered E145 was forced to divert to St. Louis after losing power in one engine after taking off from Colombia, Mo.

No word yet on why the engine lost power. All passengers and crew are safe and awaiting another plane to get them back to Starkville. Not too much in the way of drama. Not sure who the charter company is.

Having had the "pleasure" of visiting Stark Vegas, I might not be in a rush to get home http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...ced-emergency-landing-engine-fails

Well considering that Kim Anderson's plane (Anderson is the head coach at Missouri) lost an engine earlier this week maybe there is some bad juju around Mizzou Arena that needs to be expelled. Or maybe we could just expel this entire basketball season from ever happening (although I blame everything happening this year on Haith, not Anderson).

Looks like it's Dynamic/Vision.

Buddy of mine works for this company... It is NOT Vision or Dynamic Airways. They are called ADI, they are out of KRYY (Kennesaw, GA). They primarily fly charters and NASCAR flights but have E145s all on their certificate.

Apparently, there was an engine flameout departing out of COU. STL was most suitable airport for them; however, ADI didn't have a spare aircraft, spare crew, etc. to pick this team up so they were going to be there overnight at Signature.

I asked if it was an engine flameout or a compressor stall and was only told what OCC paged out.

Completely off topic but I was happy to see Bill Self finally admitted to the KC Star that walking away from the rivalry was a mistake.

Local TV stated that MSU team bussed it back to Starkville. There was a comment re: hours required for terra firma passage.
