I read email newsletter from Leeham & Co that the CS300 was supposed to have it's

1st flight today.....Couldn't find any updates here...

Did BBD get their new bird in the air today?

Bombardier said the 26th which is tomorrow, Thursday.

Yes, I know that was just sarcasm. However, in all seriousness, if I was interested in making sales to potential clients, I would worry about any negative impressions. Today, Feb 26, at Mirabel, it is -14°C (7°F) with a wind chill of -21°C (-6°F). I think waiting a little while, so that your clients don't risk frostbite, is pretty reasonable. Frostbite just might leave a negative impression. While I recognize this is a corporate decision, personal impressions still matter with the people on top.

The temperatures forecast for Saturday and Sunday are a little more bearable. As regards the CS300's first flight, let's see what happens over the next few days.

Speaking somewhat facetiously… in light of the lengthy delays already experienced, what's a few more days?

They're going to use a soon to be delivered American Eagle CRJ900 NextGen as the chase plane (with permission from American Airlines).

It is not delayed as much as the CS100, but it is still delayed by at least ~1 year. When LCI ordered the CS300 (first company to do so) they were expecting the CS300 to be delivered in the 1st quarter of 2015, although I do not know if they were going to be the first to take delivery. The first CS300 is now expected to be delivered in early 2016 according to BBD.

CS300 is on the taxiway. Flight crew is currently working through some issues, causing a small delay of 45 minutes.

Great news, hopefully someone has some video of the event, or I guess we will have to wait for BBD's official vids. Always neat to see a prototype fly for the first time.

And not a big deal either way, but worth noting that today's delay was related to the test monitoring system and not the aircraft.

Timing is everything, especially the story of AA wanting to upgauge the ERJ195's for their next order.... hmmmm

They definitely have a lot more confidence in the aircraft (or FBW) now. I wondered how steep the curve would be for the CS300, and it's very nice to see that it seems to have benefited from all the progress made on the 100.

How close is that to saying unprecedented first flight? After all the headaches, BBD needed to hit this out of the park. I think we can all agree that was an amazing accomplishment for a first flight!

It should be pointed out (again), that this is the largest INDIGENOUS aircraft ever designed in Canada.

Very proud achievement for Bombardier. The C-series is being ironed out. I salute them.

Interesting how that flight path stays very close to base.

Wow, I never would have thought they'd have 5 hrs of fuel for the first flight nor push it to that altitude and speed. Great to see. Hopefully some good performance data will start eeking it's way out and the orders will start rolling in.
