Southwest Receives Approval To Operate HOU-MEX&SJD

This is an extra bilateral approval so United and their partners keep their designations as well.

So, it's HOU-SJD, MEX, PVR, and CUN for Mexican destinations starting up in HOU? and then MBJ and SJO?

Everything is good except MBJ. They didn't announce HOU-MBJ, rather they did announce HOU-BZE but oddly didn't apply for it yet or I didn't see the application.

So by October HOU will have AUA, SJU, SJD, MEX, PVR, CUN, BZE and SJO. Talk about a big splash!

HOU already has an extensive network. If anything, I would think WN would make more connections in order for the outlying cities to be able to go to SJD and MEX, such as BOI, SEA, etc. I think that once the International flying gets going, we'll see the gateways be LAX, HOU, MCO, and FLL.

Win/win for everyone involved. I'm glad that DOT thought outside the box on this issue and everyone was able to keep their route authorities.

Substitute SNA for LAX and I completely agree.

Edit: also don't want to leave out BWI and possibly MDW.
