UA1495

Wed Mar 18, 2015 3:10 am

hey folks,

So I'm here at IAH waiting to board my UA1495/IAH-SFO. The flight is delayed due to a bird strike. Anybody knows anything about this?

Unfortunately it looks like your aircraft suffered a bird strike and has your flight delayed.

Birdstrikes and subsequent birdstrike inspections happen every day.

Airborne now two hours late... Not bad considering it's a 753. Could have been an ac swap... Provided another 753 was available. With only 21 in the fleet a spare is not always handy

Yeah, two hours is not bad for a bird strike inspection. If the bird would have gone through the core of either engine, it would have been much longer. Inspection of the entire aircraft, and check for damage where the bird hit.

You are here.
