Had to check a booking of mine with QF and an advertisement banner on their homepage titled "Istanbul direct" grabbed my attention straight away!

It appears that, subject to regulatory approval, Qantas will operate a one-off service SYD-PER-IST (QF100) on 21/4/15 (ie. next month) and then IST-PER-SYD (also QF100) on 28/4/15. Don't know if this has ever been operated before. The website (see link above) states that the flights are timed so that travellers can attend Anzac commemorative services during the stay.
Will be on a 744, and sale prices so far are quoting me less than $1400.
I'm not a regular poster in these forums; having not found anything about this after a search, I thought it is appropriate for a separate thread but please feel free to redirect me to the Australian Aviation forum if this isn't the case.

The return flights have been marketed to the public since early January 2015. The topic was first discussed on the Australian Aviation thread from 3 January, and then largely repeated at the thread linked from reply 1.
