Hi all,
We have had the 747, 787, 777, A350, A380, and A330 threads for quite a while. I think that the best selling plane ever should have it's own thread now.
I'll kick it off by saying that Transaero's newest 737 has been painted with an all-new livery.

Do we really need news on the delivery of @400 737s (or A320s ) every year???? I can see if its a new operator, subtype, livery but do we really want to know its the zillionth WN 737 or Easyjet A319?? (except when it truely is the zlilionth)

This is technically incorrect. I can name a handful of other planes that have sold more. Maybe add "large commercial aircraft"?

Right, which most of that was a military order (C-47 Skytrain) mass produced in three locations at Long Beach, Santa Monica, and Oklahoma City. There were only 607 commercial variants of the DC-3. The remainder was made by the Soviets and the Japanese. Amusingly the DC-3 is now a "Boeing product" through acquisition.

Cessna 172, Piper Cherokee, Cessna 182, Beechcraft Bonanza, AN-2, DC-3, B-24, Il-2, Spitfire, Piper Cub, etc
I think even Boeing produced more B-17s than they have 737s. Though some were built by Douglas and Lockeed Vega

I think this is a great idea. We don't have to have a picture and note for every single plane delivered, but it would be nice to see the general jist of what is going on in the 737 production world.

For example L/N 5655 will go to Urumqi Air (never heard this airline before - wiki says Hainan Airlines is Parent company)

Ok...if you interpret my first statement as literally as possible, it's incorrect. I meant best selling modern jetliner...and I'll add "built by Boeing" for those who still don't agree with it. Also, with the MAX coming online soon, I believe that this will become a pretty active thread quickly.

This will be a good thread for new liveries/first deliveries, extraordinary events, and MAX production tracking.
I definitely don't have the energy to keep up with 737s the way I do with 787s, but the big events are worth hearing about.

The first 737MAX will be L/N5602 which will go to WN. The next 737 to load will be a -900ER for Oman Air, L/N5419

I'm pretty excited to start seeing the Space Bins installed on the Alaska 737-900ERs that they will get 3rd quarter.
I'd love to see production photos comparing the modifications of the BSI (Boeing Sky Interior) necessary to accomodate them.
That's where a Production thread would be really entertaining... A recent Alaska 900ER delivery with Blue Sky Interior and standard BSI bins... and then later in a few months fotos of one of their first off the line planes that include the Space Bins in the blue sky interior.
I'm told the CSU (customer service units - Reading lights, air vents, attendant call button) will be lowered 2 inches to accomodate the change. I'd like to see it.
