How many 787-9 will TUI get in total now? Three?

Thanks for any information on that.

Shenzhen Airlines will acquire 46 737's.

If this order comes to pass as NG's then the backlog will be around 1500 frames (vs 1300 A320).
At a production rate of 45 per month it should be sufficient to second half of 2017.
How many more orders are needed for a smooth transition to the MAX you think

Looks like Sedena ordered those two 737's...

"The Defense Secretariat (Sedena) will reinforce its existing heavy-haulage, fixed-wing fleet of aircraft with the purchase of two Boeing 737-800 airplanes, costing nearly 6 billion pesos, or US $394 million.

Both aircraft will strengthen Air Squadron 502, which lost three planes, Boeing 727-200s, to recurring mechanical failures after being heavily used during rescue and relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Odile in September 2014."

http://www.airbus.com/newsevents/new...irms-up-order-for-one-airbus-a320/

Quote:
Atlantic Airways, based in the Faroe Islands has signed a firm order for one new Airbus A320. With this order Atlantic Airways becomes a new A320 customer. The aircraft will be delivered at the end of 2016, enabling the carrier to tap into the growing passenger market between the Faroes and Copenhagen.

Atlantic Airways’ A320 will have 168 seats. The airline operates already three Airbus A319s.

Ostrower mentioned on twitter the ten 777s are a top-up order for the 777X.
http://twitter.com/jonostrower/status/609095579587575810

So assuming there's a connection, NH or EY could also account for the cancelled 787s.

If this is part of one order it essentially has to be EY. NH just changed their orders this year (3 781s) and I would suspect they would do it all at once if there was going to be a change.

EY has a lot of 787s on order and I could see them realizing they need more 779s then they do 789s.

Then again it could be two different orders/cancellations. We'll hear soon.

If this is indeed the case, this plays well for both parties. EY gets more 777x's and those 15 787's will be allocated soon enough with customers who need them sooner than later. Win win.

ANA loves their 787s so I'd think it would be EY.. I mean, it would only be right since they are in the UAE and.. Yeah..  EY needs more than just 25 777X (8 8X, 17 9X) IMO.

778 - $360.5 million
779 - $388.7 million

This is list but since discounts are included because no one pays list, it's difficult to determine what the actual price is. I'm sure volume plays a major factor as well.

Air Berlin ordered in 2007 so they probably had some good discounts. The reason I say Air Berlin is because when they canceled their 787s wasn't it speculated that EY picked them up? NYC777 believes so and he thinks its the 15 unit unknown customer that Boeing has listed for 787s.

EY has a bunch of options for the 787 that they can still execute if they need orders later. And the ~$580 Mil difference in the prices above (~$290 Mil after discounts) Boeing can realize sooner as they were 2017 delivery slots which makes them more money, improving cash flow, on a hypothetical new order that they could have lost due to lack of availability.

So in the end it would be very similar to UA's 77W order (Hainan the presumed buyer there). We'll see!

I know that Etihad was in discussions for more B777X, so it is very likely that it is Etihad who is behind both the order and the cancellations.

Boeing near deal to sell 100 737 MAX to AerCap... Nice

"PARIS (Reuters) - Boeing Co is close to a long-sought deal to sell 100 of its 737 MAX passenger jets to Dutch aircraft leasing company AerCap , two people familiar with the deal said on Friday.

The deal, likely to be announced at next week's Paris Airshow, would be worth around $11 billion at list prices.

AerCap inherited negotiations from U.S. leasing company ILFC which it bought last year. ILFC had refused to join a wave of leasing company orders for the revamped 737 MAX, saying the terms must be right, a position later echoed by AerCap."

It's a real possibility that the MAX' backlog could top 3000 frames this year.

Ostrower mentioned on twitter the ten 777s are a top-up order for the 777X.

Seems to be QR.

Which would mean the 15 787 cancellations are from a different customer as QR does not have 15 frames left for delivery.

Could very well be, but I wonder about the 4x 777F then. Yes, there are still 4x UFO 777F from January 2014 in Boeings order book, but OTOH QR firmed a 777F order last december. Why keep the January order unidentified then?

Although, with someone like Al-Baker anything is possible. He also said last year he didn't want 777-8s...

Wonder if part of that is the 15 frames cancelled last week.

On the plus side, there are now up to 37 delivery positions for Emirates.

All 22 frames are 787-8
