WHAT IS THIS REPORT?
This compares what is for sale THIS WEEK for the stated period versus what was for sale LAST WEEK...It does NOT compare to last year or now (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED).

HOW DO I READ IT?
XXX-YYY DEC 4>5 JAN 4>5 ; means that the listed airline changed the frequency between the two airports to add from 4 to 5 roundtrips in December and January. No other months were changed. I only list one direction, although it is possible the listed change is only one way. It is too difficult to average the two directions. I assume the change is roundtrip and that is most often the case.

HOW ARE THE DAILY DEPARTURES CALCULATED?
This report uses total operations for the month listed, divided over the days in the month.

WHAT ARE THE FRACTIONAL FLIGHTS?
Flights that do not operate every day of the month create fractional service. In most cases flights are rounded, but in the case of international service or markets with low frequency, fractions are shown. For example, if a flight operates 4 times in April it will show 4/30=0.133=0.1. Also , a flight that only operates once per week may vary between 0.1 and 0.2 because a weekday may repeat either 4 or 5 times depending on the month.

WHAT ABOUT CARRIERS THAT DON'T PUBLISH A SCHEDULE 9 MONTHS IN ADVANCE?
Most airlines publish schedules 11 months in advance. This report covers the next 9 months. That avoids seeing schedules as they are loaded. Several LCCs load their schedules less than 9 months into the future. I remove the schedule adds if I see them and show a year over year (YOY) comparison if I notice them.

THOSE FLIGHTS AREN'T DELTA, THEY ARE SKYWEST
This report only shows the marketing code. It is too complicated to show all the operators.

THE FREQUENCIES MAY HAVE CHANGED AS YOU SHOW, BUT THE SEATS DIDNT CHANGE BECAUSE OF EQUIPMENT SWAPS
That is a natural weakness of a frequency based report, but it provides something to discuss below.

THIS LOOKS LIKE AN ERROR?
The carriers file the schedules. They do make mistakes. Most of the mistakes I have seen are either related to code shares not being marked as "duplicates" or carriers filing flights with invalid data such as equipment codes that are not standard. This causes flights to not appear.

CHARTERS?
Lately charters have been showing up in the database. I have no idea if that will continue.

I marked some of the ones I thought were interesting with an "*".

DEN-OMA used to be multiple DC10s and DC8s. ORD-OMA was also a nice mix of wide-bodies in the past.

Wow! This is currently 2x CRJ on weekdays. It hasn't been all that long ago OO ran several E120's a day to SLC and even a flight or two on to RNO. This will leave EKO (Elko, Nevada) without commercial air service.

I noticed AA adding a frequency on LGA-PIT and US dropping a LGA-PIT frequency. I'm guessing that is an integration of service? Weird that this looks like its happening one frequency at a time. Then again, I'm no expert on airline service...

Yes, AA Will take over 1 flight during the day. The frequency converts on 8/5

Good to see some additional service to SGF from the west. Would be great if DL would restart MSP to give the SGF catchment area greater options flying west. I know AA and UA covers quite a bit, but some of us prefer DL, and it would be great to see DL return to more than ATL service.

I'm not complaining too much, though. Any additional SGF service is welcomed.

You know I heard of a new and somewhat odd development that could be at play here. (or it is just an error)...

So, basically in poor months like September and January there are some markets that perform better than most. So, even though CVG-GRR may peak in July like most markets, it may for some odd reason be above average in September. Because Delta is now cutting so much flying in off-peak months like January and September there are planes available for routes that simply aren't available in months like March or July.

The thing is, this has shown like this several times and somehow it is still 4x or 5x daily. From what I can tell, OAG doesn't pick up the Republic Q400's and tie them to United. Many time the next week, the OAG thread will reverse it.

For Sept, on a few Monday's and Thursdays I looked up, 2x mainline, 2x Q400 and 1x CR7.

The big thing is F9 flew this for many years, more like 2 decades as either 3x or 4x daily. Now they are down to only 4x weekly. A-You can't fly a route this short and not fly it multiple times daily. B-I knew many people that were 100% loyal to F9 and F9 got a premium over both UA and WN on this route, until F9 unbundled, changed lots of policies and really made a ton of people mad. Everybody I know left them for either UA or WN. Or just drive it. Fares have gone through the roof on this short route too in the past year.

UA definitely files those schedules. Republic presently does not file any schedules on its own except for a placeholder they publish to hold their 2 letter IATA code. With that exception, their partners file all their schedules. So there is no reason why it would happen based upon it being Republic. It is possible that inside UA they are not filing the whole schedule in sync. Perhaps there are two teams working on the schedule (one for mainline and large RJs, one for small RJs and props) and one team is downstream of the other. When Team #1 completes the schedule and publishes it, the second team may fill in the gaps with the smaller aircraft and it is a few days out of sync. Just a theory...

Who is 4O listed and the chart and why the drop in all the SAT Routes?

I find it hard to believe 40 (Interjet) would pull down MIA, JFK, SAT & LAS . All the markets are available for booking on their website. Somebody 'oopsed' big time.

It's Interjet and it appears to me that their whole schedule dropped out this week. I'm assuming that they screwed up their filing with OAG and it will pop back next week. I've used the filing interface before with OAG and it seems pretty simple to me, plus OAG usually calls you if you screw it up this badly. The Mexican carriers seem the most challenged with filing accurate schedules. I wonder if OAG doesn't have a rep assigned to Mexico to call and report these types of things to the carrier?

Back when same owner of both CXP and Red Lion. Remember when EKO was closed before and they were going to try to do some junkets into Winnemucca,NV. Saw paper article of the first 737 into Winny and had a pic. IIRC, they never did actually then do any junkets into there.

July: 6x weekly (ex Sat) and does not operate 4th of July week, midday flight - 9E CRJ
August: 6x weekly, down to 4x per week end of the month (ex Sat) midday flight - 9E CRJ
September: 6x weekly (ex Sat) and does not operate Labor Day week, RON flight - GoJets CR7
October: 6x weekly (ex Sat) through 10/20, RON flight - Expressjet CR7

If they're trying to grab bargain-seeking passengers from Montreal and competing with NK's prices from PBG, an E175 to CLT might not be a profitable way to do it. It's also not all that easy or fast to get from Plattsburgh to BTV given that this requires a ferry crossing or a very long detour.

I've noticed AA operated flights at US gates and the other way around. I have no idea how that all works, but it sounds complicated.

I remember the good old days when United had DC - 10 service from Seattle to Chicago. I was roaming around Sea - Tac in 1989 and the lady said over the intercom "We're Expecting A Full Flight". I so miss those days. And i miss the days when you can roam around. Now you have to buy a ticket and still can't roam around the airport.

According to the AS route map, No they do not. It looks like SJC-RNO is operating however.
