New York Airways To Pan Am Building

I was just reading about New York Airways Helicopter and discovered they started service to the Heliport atop the Pan Am
Building in 1965 and then dropped the service in 1968. Was the service unprofitable.They resumed service in 1977 but
dropped service after the accident which resulted in 4 deaths on the heliport and 1 person on the ground was killed from
a blade part that fell.New York Airways ceased operations in 1979.Is there any helicopter service today in New York City.
I remember in 1967 I visited New York City and we rode a Boeing Vertrol 107 from the Pan Am Building to JFK and then
boarded a TWA flight back to CMH.
Do any Boeing Vertrol 107 Helicopters still survive today.
On youtube I saw a video on New York Airways from 1962 and the kid looks to be Tommy Norden from the TV series Flipper.

There was a helicopter service that went from AA JFK T8 to Manhattan sometime around 2006-2008. Don't quote me on the dates, but I remember seeing them land on the AA ramp.

The mid-2000s helicopter shuttle in New York was operated by US Helicopter. I remember seeing the desk in Terminal C at the Continental Airlines gates at EWR.

There is blade in NYC now which will take you to any airport or the hamptons, fire island and a couple other places.

I remember flying on an S-61 from EWR to JFK, with a stop at LGA. I don't recall which terminals were involved.

Now, let's go back a few years, to 1962, to the Vertol 107 - enjoy!

One of the rare exceptions, YVR-based Helijet. They've been operating profitable scheduled helicopter service, mainly between the city centers of Vancouver and Victoria, since they started service almost 30 years ago. They also have significant charter services.

The Vancouver-Victoria service, with rather high fares for the approximate 60 mile trip, is popular with business travellers due to a combination of geography and politics, with Vancouver being the major city in British Columbia but Victoria being the capital and home of the provincial government and separated by a fairly long stretch of water. Lots of business and government traffic between the two.

The option is a tedious combination car/bus and ferry trip that takes several hours each way, or YVR-YYJ airport to airport service, which although about 40 miles, takes much longer than Helijet between city centers with ground transportation and all the usual airport/security/check-in hassles. YYJ airport is further from the city than YVR airport.

Also many scheduled floatplane services between the city centers near the heliports, but they're affected much more by weather and can't operate at night.
