Question About UA At LGA

Fri May 22, 2015 4:25 am

I usually fly into EWR when flying to NYC, but my next trip, LGA price was much better...
My question is, what flights leave for UA on Concourse A versus the majority that leave on Concourse C?

The only mainline gate UA utilized on A now belongs to B6. There's an occasional ERJ flight to/from CLE on A however mostly all UA flights at LGA use C now.

For ORD flights, I think they mostly depart C9/C10 gates. The walk from the UA Club to gates is really short, but the concourse itself looks like a greyhound bus terminal.

It's closer to midtown for sure, but the whole experience is a major downgrade from JFK-7 or EWR-C

Can anyone provide some background on when UA (mostly) consolidated their operations on concourse C?

They shrunk enough and use small enough aircraft that they now can fit in C. They didn't take a gate from Eagle to my understanding

There was a Spirit gate on C that they may utilize. They used to have a 757 parked at A. I don't think they do that in the morning anymore

I use UA often to ORD from LGA. It is astounding how ugly and depressing that concourse is! However, a few years back they spruced up the United Club and it's much nicer and more comfortable than before. It's far from the new club design, but it is at least the only spot in the terminal that looks and feels nice. Especially it's observatory-like windows.
