I myself just flew in from Istanbul to NYC yesterday on TK3 and have to say, summer is here; "full on" at IST.
6:00 am on a Saturday morning IST was literally busting at seams. Lines everywhere, shops full, nothing seems to be adequate; coffee shops, carts, bathrooms.
At the TK lounge, both floors were packed to the gills. There were lines on every food/coffee station. There were no empty tables, people were sharing tables with others. There were 10 people in front of me in the men's lav. I had to go to the downstairs bathroom.
On the other hand, TK 3 left on time at 7:25am with 16J/200Y pax onboard and we were number one for take-off. After a 10:30 hour smooth, uneventful flight we had a go around at JFK. The pilot said the reason was "technical". From what I can see we were down to 500 feet or so for 13L, where we banked to the right and then to the left and it was full power after that. Clear skies, no turbulence. I imagine either we were too high or there was traffic on the runway. Either way this was my second missed approach ever in over 450 flights. Exciting
-TK to add Khujand/Tajikistan, Port Louis/Mauritius and Antanarivo/Madagascar to their plan list.
-TK to start Karlsruhe 4 x W with A319
-Also TK to start Graz, Austria with 4 x W
-If anyone has more info about the TK A333 at KTM, that would be awesome.
-Yesterday we flew over the new Istanbul airport construction area, groundwork is at an incredible scale. I can't imagine what it would look like in 10 years, that is why I am taking pictures of the "Belgrad Ormani" these days.
-Also from last months thread:
"boun" as the poster:
"Has any of you read this interview with Temel Kotil?
He, sure, talks about interesting stuff. The ones I found interesting:
- a hint of a possible Atlanta service. Although there isn't a final decision, Atlanta seems to be the next in the US,
- shift of a flight to SAW to make room for IST-MIA? Really, didn't get what he, or the author, meant with it,
- HAV alone is not profitable enough. I guess they encountered freedom flight issues with HAV-MEX. Colombia is on the tables while Caracas is not(?) due to obvious reasons."

Welcome everyone. Happy travels, safe landings to all.
