A bit off topic, but they have a pretty cool website. Their food choices are interesting and they provide a lot of amenities for a low fare airline. I hope they continue to grow.

Low fare? When I check their prices from SEA - OSL they are usually the highest. A shame since it is a fantastic - and best - connection to Norway..

Does anyone know the seating configurations of all of Icelandairs 757s, are they all the same or are there some differences?

Are they still only operating one B767? Serving two major hubs with one aircraft could be tough!

At the moment they don't operate any, but will be getting 2 next year

The operation will not br much different than today's 757 operations so don't ser what will be tough about it

Timings look like they are intended to offer a smooth one stop trip from LHR-JFK and back with fairly short connection times. I guess a lot of luggage will not be leaving the hold at KEF, even if the passengers have to get off.

In the last years Icelandair has had the tendency to adjust capacity according to bookings. They did it mainly by moving the 757-300 around and by doubling up on flights, a second flight 15 minutes behind the main flight.
The second option, doubling up, does not really work for LHR, JFK and EWR.
For the above schedule they would need one 767-300 only.

3 - Are they still getting one 787?
4 - Seems like the 787 would be a good plane for them. More efficient compared with the 757, yet not that much larger. In fact, even if their yields didn't go up. the efficiency of the 787 seems like it would offset the difference

787 is perfect... they can carry a lot more fish for not much extra fuel than a 757...
However, I do wish there's an A310NEO... it would be perfect for FI's needs.
Back to the 787... I guess the 767 would be to get FI to get onto widebody ops, and practicing using LD3s for fish would be a worthwhile exercise... especially in summer. (No, am not pulling a fish joke!)

It's a pity they chose the 737Max... Again, flying fish containerized is better for quality control. (Again, not pulling a fish joke), the 320/321Neos would have been better IMHO... if fish was such an important consideration for FI's fleet choice (now that's a fish joke... kinda...)

I'd rather use the FCOM and FPPM... the ACAPS is quite "useless" for the 739ERs...

LD2s. And FI is and has been operating 767, just not for themselves.

Seems to me that Saga class is even smaller on the 767 than the 75's? Only 10 Y+? That might be nice, if its 5 across seating in that section?

Well, not all of them.
The configuration of the Icelandair owned 752s is C22W41Y120.
I think TF-FIK (leased) is Y200 and I do not know about TF-FIS (also leased)
the lone 753 TF-FIX is C22W65Y129

In principle the 753 flies anywhere when early bookings indicate that a 752 won't make it.

In practice it has often been used for LHR and CPH.

Nobody knows. And certainly not Icelandair. This is for normal year to year expansion, just like they added a few 752s this spring.

New routes are opened, when they see a business opportunity, and underperforming routes are closed. On the rest frequency and capacity is adjusted to best guesstimate.

Detailed planning of summer 2016 plan will be initiated when it is known how well the summer 2015 plan turned out.

Iceland Air already own 767's, they just lease them to PX, same with PX's 737 fleet.

It has been at OSL a few times.

Not sure if it might struggle with the range to reach SEA

Slightly off topic, but was playing around on GCMAP today with Icelandair's flights. It shocked me that DFW was only 4 miles further than PDX (Which they currently serve). Given the only possible connections on FI were 2x DFW-BOS-KEF (B6/FI), or the long back track DFW-SEA-KEF (AS/FI). Further given the massive population of DFW (#4 Metro in US), affluent city, plenty of travelers. What are the chances of a DFW-KEF in the future? I think it could fill a niche that current DFW-EU flights cannot (currently all we have is CDG/MAD/FRA/LHR/AMS (seasonal). KEF would add many more connections opportunities, and would likely capture the Dallas-Stavanger oil market (YES I KNOW ITS SMALLER THAN IAH-SVG), but let's not forget there are huge oil companies left here in Dallas (including the World's largest oil company- Exxon.
Anyway, sorry for the long rant, but I'm so excited to be flying them again in Saga next month (DFW-BOS-KEF, then RKV-AEY-GMY-AEY-RKV, then back KEF-BOS-DFW).

No, flew in -FIK a few weeks ago and it definitely has business class. Unfortunately it ws the runt of the litter - no IFE, no Wifi, the seats are crap, signage is still partly left over from the iFly lease, etc...

Most often LHR, CPH and JFK. Has been used to OSL, AMS, and ARN. Do not know about CDG. On flights to North America only used for the east coast. Does not manage for example SEA because of range. Boston is more often doubled up.

Perhaps we will see KEF-DFW on an Icelandair 757-200, but is it the not to good connected niche market Icelandair is usually looking for? But than again Icelandair flies to JFK and EWR.

Icelandair seems to add one 767-300ER. Former VQ-BVD original new to Air New Zealand. It will be interesting to see if it will be added to their own fleet or go for wet leasing.

Icelandair has wet leased frames to third parties they dry leased themselves. In the last years FI seems to prefer to own the frames. Of the 26 757 only two pax and the two cargo frames are still leased. The two leased pax 757 are expected to leave the fleet next spring.
