I've heard that BF on the 77W will be around 24 seats, but that can't be right.
When wasn't America great?

Yes, and if they go through with their plans for the revised Y+ it could become 3-3-3 in the new Y+. But that won't happen by early 2016... Total capacity will likely be that of a 744, so around 374.

24J makes no sense considering UA stuffs 36J on 788, 48J on 789, and 50J on 2-class 77E

You should seriously consider making a better title next time
Maybe by adding a question mark at the end
I clicked the thread with excitement, hoping to see some seatmaps or configuration figures
But when I saw "any indications..." I was like....ahh I was lied to!

No where in that report does it say only 24 j class seats. No way that is going to fly for United when they need 50 to 75 J class seats on a 77W. No First Class though the "Continenatlization" of United continues. Business First is the top class at UA.

I wonder if they are talking about the domestic 772s....fairly certain that the 77Ws will have 60+ J class seats.
I know the voices in my head aren't real but sometimes their ideas are just awesome!!!

Even then, 24J is a very low premium seat count for domestic 77As when the far smaller 753 has 24F

Expect the 77W to have 60+ BF seats. Hopefully, UA will introduce a new BF seat at the time these planes are delivered.

I suppose most if not all of them will not have first class though things do change. Maybe 10-15 of them will be equipped with a true first class suite for important routes to places like London, Hong Kong, Sydney etc?

If anything, that may be due to the Domestic 777's being put pretty much entirely on Hawaii routes that are low yield leisure anyways, but the 753's being largely hub to hub for business travelers connecting.

Ehhh ? I thought 753s are frequently on routes to LAS MCO and LAX-Hawaii .... Is that what you call "business travelers connecting" ?

I want to say the late 90's or early 2000's and are modeled after lCAL. Someone at UA could give us an exact time frame. Regardless, a 2-4-2 seating arrangement on the 744 and 777 fleets isn't the norm and UA could do with an update of their soft product as well.

I think UA was going to roll out changes in the next couple of years. Frankly, that would make them the last of the major carriers to do so but the sooner they get around to it, the better.

Better sources:
sCO's long haul premium product started rolling out in Q4 2009:

Quote:
Continental's first aircraft with new flat-bed BusinessFirst seats took to the skies in the fourth quarter of 2009, with installation complete on three aircraft; two Boeing 777s and a 757-200. Flat-bed seats are being installed on Continental's entire fleet of Boeing 777, 757-200, 767-200 and substantially all of its 767-400 aircraft, and on its Boeing 787 fleet as the aircraft are delivered to Continental.

sUA's long haul premium product started rolling out in Q4 2007:

Quote:
United Airlines' first international aircraft to complete the company's multi-million dollar product enhancement is scheduled to take flight on Oct. 29, 2007 from Washington Dulles to Frankfurt. With its true flat-bed seats, on-demand entertainment and other spruced up amenities, the Boeing 767 will provide customers with the optimal space to work, sleep or relax while traveling overseas.
