I agree the gray O next to the "real" orange O may be confusing for people not familiar with the brand.

That said, I am very happy that the engine cowlings were painted gray and not white. Looks good. I still cannot make up my mind about the tail design, but I lean towards "I like".

On the other hand, when the Latin American football narrators announce a goal it's something like GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL with about 3 minutes of O's and about a hundred repetitions. Y guess they would need at least an A340-600 for that!

Hahaha, you are absolutely right man. That's a good one. Let's wait for a 777-900X order by Gol then haha.

Btw, the website has not been updated. I suppose that should happen shortly.

I too like the grey over orange engine cowlings. Are the flap track fairings painted grey as well, or is that just the shadow from the wing? Hard to tell.

It seems to be a piece of the diamond with circle motif from the Brazilian flag.

From this image you can see it's the 2 "O's" from the new logo (didn't look as obvious on that rendering).

Sorry I should have been more clear, I meant I prefer the GOOL grey engines. I believe the current GOL engines are orange. I'm not saying the GOOL engines are painted grey over orange.

Considering the latest round of livery "refreshes"...MU comes to mind, this one isn't bad. Of course I'm a sucker for that grey/silver color.

Very smart logical move, there last livery was starting to look a little date. A bit too early 2000's. This is a logical step in the right direction. It does look like GOOL tho.

because they simply are in no way worthy of that name.

You mean, they're a successful, profitable business with a history of solid on-time performance and extremely competitive airfares?

I'm not even sure why you'd want to associate yourself with the Varig name. Sounds like nostalgia to me.

Poor of them: they've simply spent with art in a failed branding.
DL is just not realizing that this G3's brand crisis is harder than the one DL's brand had by the end of 90's.
Instead of 'delta', the name 'gol' is nothing about an airline neither about about an international carrier.
If DL really wants to overcome this brand crisis, they will have to find a better name for G3. The name Varig would not be a good option at all.

Yes, but the two O's are offset and look three dimensional in the old livery. In the new livery the O's look sequential as if to intentionally spell GOOL.

The new livery is a nice move from something looking cheap towards something classier. The exact opposite of what Transavia just did.

I agree that the double "O" may be confusing and lead to pronounce it like "cool" to the uninformed but still a nice livery.

Thumbs up from me too!

I have flown GOL and really like them, but thought the current livery a bit dated. Reminds me of that horrible mistral font that came with Windows that everyone used in the 90s.

This is a great refresh.

Hey EasyJet - that's how you do a classy modern re-brand using the colour orange.

Thanks for the info prchan. I was aware of DL's ownership but not of the fact that Groupe Air France-KLM also held a stake. I am not surprised. I flew a really nice and new Gol 737 in April of 2014, and there was a DL logo on the bulkead as well.

Of course, how dare someone that's not a baby boomer have an opinion?

I'm over the ageism on this website. Let's face it, Gen Y and Alpha are going to to become the major spending power in the next few years.

While the older generations start to retire.

There's nothing wrong with airlines modernising to suit a younger audience.
