Trans Caribbean World Airways.ever Heard Of It.

I was on a facebook page on aviation art and saw this for Trans Caribbean World Airways advertising service from New York to Havana
and San Juan.This is from the 1940s.I never heard of this airline.I did hear of Trans Caribbean Airways which merged with
American Airlines in 1971.

There's also a "TransCaribbean Airways" concept that has been around for at least a decade and a half, attempting to convince areas to give them startup capital.

They conned the state of Louisiana out of more than a half-million dollars, in claims to launch an MSY-SXM frequency.... then suddenly disappeared:

Same company. They were flying DC-8 and 727 at the time AA acquired them.
Worked for WestAir, Apollo Airways, Desert Pacific, Western, AirCal and American Airlines (Retired). Flight Memory: 181 airports, 92 airlines, 78 a/c types, 403 routes, 58 countries (by air), 6 continents. 1,119,414 passenger miles.

Noticed at the bottom of the posted advertisement it said "contract non-scheduled service"
Also listed NYC as address.

Probably the start with charter operations of Trans Caribbean Airways before the CAB gave them route authority.

Nifty ad/flyer by the way.
