If financing is US dollars, it might be 3 to be added unless assumptions have changes from this 2012 article:

What I find most interesting is the following quote (concerning converted 763):
“These new generation, long range, fuel efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft will enable us to expand the geographic reach and capacity of our network."
In the FedEx 763F Thread you have a number of people who seem to think that the 763F is anything but efficient and that FedEx is only buying them because they can get them really cheap...
In fact the 763F (or conversion to F) is considered modern and efficient for the freighter market.

Yeah, because the type has been around for more than three decades it becomes totally inefficient even though airlines are still operating large fleets of the type. Compared to newer aircraft it is less efficient, but there's a reason for that. Still it doesn't make it a bad aircraft to operate. Also people tend to forget the needs cargo airlines have for their business which are not really to have an aircraft capable of flying halfway around the world.
If the people making such comment are the same who feel compelled to get the very latest mobile phone or computer because they have to, well...

SFC isn't everything!!! Why pay huge finance/lease payments on a new plane so that you can fly it 2 sectors a day and have it look pretty on the ramp. Keep in mind Cargojet was profitable with a fleet of exclusively 722s, with an extra engine to maintain, and a SO to pay.
The 757/767 is extremely common, with a large support network, and Cargojet seems to be really making it work for them (aside from the 757 that ended up slicing a building in YYT)

It makes a huge difference to buy the same model brand new and expect to operate it for 25 years or to convert an older example that you'll send to the axeman in 10 to 15 years' time.
FX has obviously done their math, but it's a very good bet to assume that very keen pricing on Boeing's part is what enabled it.
Exceptions confirm the rule.

I would have thought if they were going to add aircraft we might have seen something larger? Anyway good for them. its amazing driving around YHM and seeings so many heavies. When I was a kid the big exceitment was a single UPS 727 flight to SDF.
