I don't see how Iranian airlines can start direct flights to the US at this stage.
Iran Air has one B747-200 and one B747SP available at this point in time which they are using on their South Asia and North Asia routes, Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur and Beijing. They are old machines they could be retired any time soon.
Mahan Air has two B747-300s I am not sure in what condition.
I don't see how Iranian major airlines flying direct from Tehran IKA to New York JFK unless they acquire new aircraft and there could still be some time before they train technical/cabin flight crews after they acquire the new aircraft.
