Air Transat Is Enhancing Its 'connecting Program'

Wed Jul 29, 2015 6:45 pm

Thus they are allowing travelers to access more flights flown out of other cities in the country. Is it really just for that reason or are they doing it with aircraft transferring from one airport to the other, at least it provides better opportunities for leisure travelers.

I think it's odd they don't do any revenue flights within Canada, would love to fly an A310 from Regina to Winnipeg but they don't sell positioning flights.
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz

I'm not sure how successful they could be with such venture. WD attempted to create a domestic network and it went south. It was at a time WS didn't exist at all. Didn't Canada 3000 also tried it?

The one & only Canada 3000 route map I ever saw, looked like Canada to Caribbean, Florida, Mexico, Hawaii & likely other holiday destinations. I never knew that Canada 3000 was operating domestic flights, interesting.

I'm almost certain C3 did domestic work...I know that they flew YXX - YYZ at one stage (circa 2000 I believe) and that they did a number of YVR - YYZ flights as well. Again, I was a bit too young to remember exactly but I know I did fly them from YVR to DUB/SNN (can't remember) via YYZ. Again, that was a few years ago so I'm not 100% on the details but they certainly did domestic flights.

They tried to compete with the likes of AC and CP on the busiest routes but failed due to lack of demand, just like Jetsgo, Greyhound although they had other issues, and a myriad of other airlines in a low population density world of Canada.

TS used to offer cheap one-way fares on YYZ-YUL v.v. 2-3 times a week until a couple of years ago. I presumed these were re-positioning flights between the 2 cities, but always on widebodies of course. They were often at seemingly random or odd hours (say Tuesday 3pm, or Sunday 11pm).
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.
